Chapter 15

Monday March 6 2023

I. Am. So. Excited. For. Tomorrow. Idk why.  Anyway, today I was beyond excited because I got to work on the project again with Aiden. Maya actually left early, meaning we got to work just the two of us. Kind of awkward, I guess. Basically, we had a period at the end of the day to work on the project. At the start, Aiden was too busy playing games instead of working. He ended up looking over something for the project, then going back to his seat to play games. I was annoyed because we were supposed to be practicing our presentation. We're presenting tomorrow and we haven't practiced a single time. I went up to him and started saying how it was a work period and we needed to practice. He was basically trying to get out of it and saying that we could practice on our own, we didn't have to practice together. He kept making up dumb excuses like he's "Awkward and introverted", which everyone knows isn't true.  We had this whole argument to the point where he brought up the whole thing that I "take everything personally" and whatnot. Eventually Sky and Emma came over and sat with us. I explained my issue to them so they helped me convince Aiden to work. The four of us were sitting together while Aiden and I argued about fonts. The thing is, I like to change all the fonts and make them fancy, but Aiden likes to keep the default font or use Comic Sans. I hate people who do that. Anyway, Emma was there too so we basically ended up chatting. I was worried that we weren't going to get any work done because so many people were there, so I kind of kicked Sky  out. I feel really bad because I sounded so rude. I hope she understood that I just wanted to work.

 I forgot to mention that at last recess, him and Amelia were walking together and stuff so my friends and I followed them because they were very sus. Aiden's friends did the same thing. We looked really stupid but I could honestly care less. So yeah. Then after recess Emma told me to send Aiden weird photos of her. Idk why I agreed but I took a few and sent them. He saved them. Then he started asking for more details about Emma kicking me out when she was at the park with John. He actually sounded genuinely concerned that Emma just kicked me out. That's about all that happened, then I left for swim practice.

Wednesday March 8 2023

Today is Wednesday. Yeah. I was just waiting for the end of the day so I could go home. Basically today Emma and the rest of my friends besides Sky were ignoring me. They were literally all hanging out with the boys. Yeah. They literally ignored me all day. Then, after school I met up Emma and tried to make conversation and stuff because we were going to walk down the path together. She was scrolling in her phone and listening to music so she wasn't very interesting. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Aiden behind us. I pretended not to notice and kept walking. Eventually, he caught up to us. Him and I basically started walking and talking down the path while Emma was behind us on her phone. When it was time for her to leave, we said bye and whatever and then Aiden and I talked about the most random stuff again. I did end up telling him that I didn't hate him because he kind of hinted that he thought I hated him. Yeah. Then Aiden and I said a very awkward goodbye, especially because I accidentally kept walking with him past the spot where we usually split up. Anyway, then I texted him for a bit and then he left me on read. That was rude but I understand that he has other things. I'm starting to lose hope that he likes me, which is sad. Maybe he just sees me as a friend. I don't want to ruin that. Imagine how awkward it would be if I told him I liked him and he didn't like me. I don't want that to happen.

Wednesday March 22 2023

Today I walked with Aiden. That's about all I'm writing about these days. Anyway, it was pretty eventful and fun which is why I'm writing about it. At the end of the day, Emma and I were getting ready to walk. Aiden was near us so he kind of asked me if I was walking. I said yes. I think it's kind of weird that he wanted to know if I was walking. Emma and I were walking, but Aiden was with someone else, so I didn't think he was walking with us. Emma and I walked around in the snow because we felt like it. When he finally came over, we started walking. The three of us kinda just talked about random stuff. It wasn't very interesting. We did end up standing and talking for a while. Then Emma left us. I decided to start conducting my investigation to find out who Aiden likes. I was asking him about it and trying to bribe him with my strawberry marshmallows. Yeah. He was all like "I don't give in to bribes. I bribe other people" I obviously didn't give up. Why would I? I'm trying to get valuable information. I ended up making him give me hints instead of telling me who he liked. Basically, I had three marshmallows left, and I said one would equal one hint. He didn't want to give three hints, and I thought one was too little so we settled on two. I ended up giving him all three marshmallows because I am a nice person. We also shook hands on this. I ended up changing the info he had to give me. I knew he would give bad hints, so I changed it to one hint and then I could ask a question. His hint was "She doesn't have blonde hair". That was probably one of the worst hints ever because there are only three girls in the class with blonde hair. But whatever. It's better than "She goes to our school" or anything like that. Then I asked my question. It was "How many letters are in her name?" Best question ever. That's very helpful. He basically said "That's a really good question" and then said he didn't know. My response "You don't know how many letters are in the name of the girl you like?" That's basic knowledge in my opinion. I ended up giving him my phone with our class list on it. He scrolled for a bit and the counted. He said there were six letters. Fyi my (real) name has seven letters. When he gave me my phone back, I started going through all the names but soon realized that they were all people that he probably would never like. Btw, most of this happened when we were standing by the nearby public school. Also, he gave me one of the marshmallows I gave him. I kind of asked him if he was sure that the name had six letters. He checked again, and guess what? He said "Actually, it has seven letters". Seven letters.  I mean, I don't have blonde hair and my name has seven letters. We didn't split up at our normal spot today because I wanted to talk to him longer. I also never realized how far his house is. I always thought he lived close to where we split up, but it was actually pretty far. We kept turning onto more and more small roads, and I eventually had no idea where I was. Stupid, I know. I looked behind me and had no idea where to go. I was also kind of scared my dad would track my location and find out I wasn't walking home. I ended up texting him saying that I had stayed at the park with Emma and I just left. Since I had to idea where to go, Aiden was nice and showed me where to go. We didn't go backwards; we kept going and soon came out near the public library (which is near my house). Then we said bye and stuff. As soon as I put on my K-pop music, I opened the notes app and started to make this elaborate chart to figure out who Aiden likes. I had some good info, and I wanted to get started right away. I did it on my walk home. I basically put a checkmark or an x in columns beside all the names of the girls. There were only three people that got check marks in both. It was

Laurie, Amber

And me.

I immediately texted him because I thought I could convince him to tell me who it was. I only mentioned Laurie and Amber because it would be weird to include myself. He responded with "I cannot confirm or deny" Btw, he made me swear on my life that I wouldn't tell anyone, so it's not like I could ask anyone. And I'm keeping that promise. To be honest, I think it's Laurie. It makes perfect sense. I'll just bribe him again. I mean, it worked this time. He even said that I was good at bribing because I managed to bribe him. I will find out more soon, but I think I might still have a chance.

I'm finally back with another chapter! If you read the little message chapter, you would know that I had to stop updating for a bit to change some chapters. However, I'm back now. I'll try to be consistent with updating, but I start school in three days, so that might be hard; but I'll try my best!
