this is going to be a really short chapter, the reason being the importance of it!
another week had past, and not much had changed, except for the fact that felix was starting to act a bit nicer towards hyunjin after everything that he'd said.
neither of the pair spoke about how they fell asleep holding hands as they were both embarrassed, so they just forgot about it.
the date was now the 22nd of december, and christmas was creeping upon us.
chris came over quite a few times to see felix, but he also spoke to hyunjin too. it seemed as if chris and hyunjin were actually becoming close.
[hyunjin pov]
"it's a really good book, you just need to trust me and read it!" i argued, trying to convince the blonde.
"hyunjin, you literally just told me the ENTIRE story, how am i supposed to read a book if the ending's already been spoiled?" felix frowned, rolling his eyes at me.
i chuckled lightly as the door flew open, me and felix flinched at the sudden gust of wind, as well as at the quokka who had just burst into the room.
he panted, gasping for breath. his hands were on his knees and his body was bent over slightly.
i raised my eyebrow, wondering what dr. han wanted to tell us.
"...FELIX-" dr. han blurted out, now on the floor, crawling into the hospital room as if he was actually a squirrel.
he stood up slowly and took a deep breath, "i've got... big news..."
felix glared at the doctor in confusion, "well? what is it?..." he asked impatiently.
"felix, i-" he started,
he swallowed, but then spoke again.
"...i think we've got you a heart donour..."
the room went silent.
those 7 words.
the 7 words that felix has been waiting for ever since he'd been in this hospital.
those 7 words had finally been said to him.
i looked at felix, who's shock turned into an overwhelmingly large smile.
is this real?
"...there's a young man who's gotten unwell, he's most likely going to pass away. he's your age and weight range, he wants to donate his heart after death..." dr. han added.
i smiled at felix, feeling the happiness he felt.
"...felix... you're getting a healthy heart... oh my god."
[felix pov]
all of a sudden, i began to scream in joy.
"YEEEEESSSS!!! HAHAHHAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
both dr. han and hyunjin were startled at my sudden shouting, but i didn't care. the happiness i was experiencing right now was the most i had ever experienced in my entire life.
dr. han ran to give me a hug, wrapping his short, buff arms around my torso. hyunjin just stood back and watched the scene.
me and hyunjin had never hugged before, it just wasn't really a part of our relationship.
we were close enough to hug, but we still decided not to. it was just awkward for some reason.
and i was fine with that, we were just a nurse and a patient after all.
i let go of dr. han, he backed away and stood by the side of my bed.
hyunjin was staring at me smiling.
"oi, what're you looking at?" i asked.
"i'm looking at someone who's finally gonna leave this hospital and experience a normal life." he replied.
i was shocked at his reply, but then the reality sank in.
i'm not gonna miss this place at all, but i'll miss dr. han.
and, i've got to admit, i'll miss hyunjin as my nurse too.
my life's about to change dramatically.
