it had been a week since felix asked me to be his boyfriend, and honestly, things didn't change that much.

it was hard to act like a normal couple when there were multiple obstacles in the way: firstly, not being allowed to date each other, secondly, one of us being very unwell and unable to walk, thirdly, not being able to leave the hospital to go on dates.

however, felix's health hadn't gotten any worse than before, which was a good sign.

it was now the 14th of january.

i walked into the staff room, yeji sat at one of the tables, drinking coffee.

"good morning yeji!" i smiled at the woman.

"oh- morning nurse hwang." she replied, getting out her notepad, "why are you so happy today?"

i scoffed, "because felix hasn't gotten any worse, it means i probably have more time with him."

yeji smiled, "ohh, i see. well i'm happy for you, and for felix of course." she paused, "maybe he'll be able to eat solid food again soon, like the toast i used to make for him everyday."

"heh, i hope so, he's been really missing his daily toast." i sighed.

"maybe you should have a meal with him to celebrate?" she suggested.

"a meal where? it's not like he can leave this hospital..." i muttered.

"i don't mean to a restaurant silly, i mean in felix's bedroom." yeji rolled her eyes.

and that gave me an idea. maybe it could be like a date?

i couldn't tell yeji that though, of course.

i stared at the wall for about 5 minutes planning out this date, until yeji started violently shaking me.

"helloooooo?!?!? you alright?!!?" she said aggressively.

"aujfbahf- agh!" i was shaken out of my trance as i snapped back into reality.

"i can prepare some good food for this evening if you'd like, and of course, it'll be soft so that felix can eat it." she smiled.

i nodded, "yes, that would be great, thank you. i just know he'd love that."

i smiled back at the chef as i jogged out of the staff room and back into felix's room.

the aussie just looked at me in confusion.

"...what's up with you?" he asked.

"we're having a first date felix!" i whisper-shouted.

he turned his head to the right, then the left.

"but, we can't leave the hospital, how's that gonna work?" he replied.

"listen, i've gotten yeji to prepare some good food for us to eat here, i'll set up a table and everything! it'll be just like a real date in a real restaurant, i promise!" i smiled at the boy.

he was clearly a bit sceptical.

"are you doubting me, darling?" i said with a flirtatious tone.

"d-darling? don't call me that..." felix snapped.

i scoffed, "why not, do you like it?"

"it's weird..." he replied.

i rolled my eyes, "you're just not used to it yet, people have nicknames for their partners."

felix slowly nodded, "well, if you want to call me a nickname, i have one that i really like."

"what is it?"
