[felix pov]

me and hyunjin had decided that we'd go on a date every week so that we had enough time to plan everything.

another week had passed, and it was time for another date. although, i had to get my daily medical check-ups out the way first.

i groaned as dr.han pulled out the needle, placing the blood into a tube.

he then began scribbling and making notes on his clipboard, making me worry quite a bit.

suddenly, there was a shine in dr. han's eyes, as if he had just lit up.

"felix..." he gasped.

"yes..?" i muttered.

"your health has improved a lot over the past week, i think the medication is working finally!"

my eyes widened, and so did hyunjin's. he grabbed my hand tightly and squeezed it.

"wow, that's amazing doctor. i'm really glad!" i felt a smiled grow on my face.

"what does this mean for felix then?" the blueberry head asked, intrigued in whatever the quokka had to say.

"well, if the medication continues to work the way it is now, it means that felix's life will be saved. it may even lead to total recovery." he spoke enthusiastically.

recovery?

you mean, this could really be over?

all this time i've spent in hospital, all these moments, all this pain.

i might not have to experience it all anymore?

"that's.... that's just... i can't believe it...." hyunjin muttered, "felix... you're going to be okay!"

before i could respond, he wrapped me in a tight hug.

"not so fast, nurse hwang. keep in mind felix's life may only be saved IF this medication continues to work, there are cases where the body has suddenly rejected it," he took a deep breath, "i don't mean to be a mood killer, but i still want you to be prepared for the worst just in-case."

i raised my eyebrow, "but, it's still good news, we should be happy for now. i think we all deserve some joy."

dr. han nodded, "you're right. but as a doctor, i've got to tell the truth always."

[hyunjin pov]

the two of us replied with a nod, as the squirrel collected his things and began walking to the door.

suddenly, i got an idea. as if a light bulb had switched on in my mind.

"dr. han- wait!" i shouted.

he turned around, "hm?"

"can we talk outside for a minute?" i asked.

"of course, nurse hwang." he replied.

i winked at the freckled australian as i followed dr. han outside.

"what is it?-" "as a celebration, i want to talk felix outside of the hospital." i cut him off.

"outside the hospital? like around the streets? he's not in a good enough condition for that." he responded in doubt.

"just this once. i'll make sure to talk great care of him. if anything happens i'll take him straight back to the hospital." i tried to convince him.

"i don't know..." dr. han muttered.

"please, doctor, i promise he'll be safe with me!" i begged.

his eyebrow raised, "why do you want to take him outside so bad though?"

"because he hasn't been out there in months, he feels isolated from society and neglected as a person, he's unwell and needs something to make him feel better, even if it's just to a small extent!" i spoke with passion.

dr. han hesitated, sighed, and then just nodded, "alright then, you can go. but you must be back before 11pm..."

i threw my hands in the air to cheer, "YES! thank you dr. han! thank you so much!" i gave him a quick hug before i went back into felix's room.

"what was all that about?" the younger asked.

"i've just planned our next date."

"well, what is it?"

"you'll find out."

"when is it?"

"now."
