UNFORTUNATELY, COURTNEY'S TIME IN LA HAD COME TO AN END. She would be back to work on her album some more, but she had to return home. Any more absences and Principal Figgins would have to hold her back a year.
So, here she was; saying farewell to her boyfriend at the airport.
"I'll miss you, little love," Jesse sighed. They stood outside the glass doors of LAX, making their dreaded goodbyes.
Courtney smiled and took his hand in hers. "We'll be fine, Jesse. It'll only be for a couple of months. Then, I'll be back," she soothed. "We're still having our nightly calls, right? You'll be fine without me, clingy baby."
The curly-haired boy pouted. "But I can't touch you! Or hold you. Or kiss you," he whined.
Courtney rolled her eyes fondly. "Oh, come on. You've survived your first term at UCLA without me. What's another one?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"But—"
Courtney pressed a finger to his mouth. "Ah! No counter-arguments!" she teased. "You are going to be fine, you big baby."
As if it was possible, Jesse's pout deepened.
"Come here and give me a kiss goodbye. I'm almost late for check-in," she said.
The curly-haired boy perked up immediately and pulled her in for a kiss. It was playful and not at all like a goodbye kiss. It was more of an "I'll call you as soon as you land to bug you" kind of kiss.
Yeah, Courtney is in love with a man-child.

As soon as Courtney walked into her home, she was bombarded by Quinn and Kurt. They attached themselves to her and exclaimed in tandem.
"I have something to tell you!"
The blonde's eyes widened as she struggled to get them off her. "Whoa. Hold on, guys! Give a girl some room to breathe!" she chided. Quinn and Kurt slowly climbed off her, giving her matching puppy dog eyes.
Courtney scrunched her face. "Don't give me those looks. Let me just set my stuff down and we can talk, okay?" she said. The two friends nodded and rushed off into Courtney's bedroom. Much to their credit, they sat mostly in silence as Courtney put her bags away. There was only the occasional "Are you done yet?" from the two as she packed.
Once she was done, she turned to Quinn and Kurt with a smile. "Okay, who wants to go first?" she asked.
The two teenagers jumped up like excited puppies and exclaimed at the same time.
"I'm dating Sam!" Quinn.
"I met a guy!" Kurt.
Courtney's face twisted in surprise. "No way!" she squealed. "You two have to tell me everything!"
