KURT HAD OFFICIALLY TRANSFERRED TO DALTON. Of course, Courtney was devastated her best friend had to leave, but she understood.

Karofsky was allowed back into the school by the board, and Kurt didn't want to spend another day in his presence.

Her mother had also stepped down from her position as principal. She found that the job was too much for her; she spent most of her days in the office doing paperwork, and when she wasn't, she was in meetings with the board.

All in all, it took time away from the one thing Sue Sylvester loves the most. Her family.

And so, with much more enthusiasm than someone would expect from a demotion, she returned to her previous job as coach of the Cheerios.

This brings us to where we are now, with Courtney sitting next to Santana in Glee Club as they waited for Mr Schue to arrive.

When he did, Rachel stood up with a wide grin and announced her choice of the ballad she would be singing on sectionals.

Courtney rolled her eyes. Of course, Rachel gets the solo. And then, she'll sing a duet with Finn. And then, Mercedes will belt out a mind-boggling high note.

And that leaves no room for a duet from me and Mike. As usual.

Much to Courtney's, and the group's surprise, Mr Schue stopped Rachel. "Our competition at sectionals are your classic stool choirs. Great voices, but they don't move," he said. "If we're going to beat them, we need to do what they can't: dance."

At those words, Courtney practically glowed. She did a victory dance in her seat and squealed. "Does that mean that I finally get to do my duet with Mike?" she asked.

The Spanish teacher nodded her head. "Precisely! Courtney, Mike, and Brittany, I've decided to feature your sweet dance moves!" he exclaimed.

Courtney turned to her two dance partners with a broad grin. "Oh! We're going to have so much fun choreographing the routine!" she squealed.

Of course, Rachel had to burst her bubble. "Wait..." her voice cut in. "They're going to dance in front of me while I sing my solo?" she asked.

"You're not getting a solo for this competition," Mr Schue clarified.

The club were stunned to silence. They were all confused. Had they heard that correctly? Was Mr Schue really not giving Rachel a solo for Sectionals?

Amidst the utter surprise of the group, Mercedes spoke up with a wide grin. "Finally!" she said. "What song do I get to sing?"

Mr Schue shook his head again. "I was thinking that the winners of our duet competitions would take the leads," he shared.

Courtney turned to Quinn and Sam excitedly. "I'm so happy for you guys!" she exclaimed.
