"ARE YOU DOING what I think you're doing?" Quinn asks, walking up to her fellow blonde. The head cheerio noticed that Courtney had been eyeing the Glee Club sign-up sheet since it's been put up last Thursday. The Cheerios were working towards their sixth consecutive national win, and Quinn could not afford any of her members being distracted. Hence, why she's been drilling it into Courtney's head that joining Glee Club would be social suicide.

"No, I-I'm just looking. I'm not going to sign up, Quinnie," Courtney tells her. "Besides, If my mom knew, she'd send me to a mental hospital," the girl continues, tucking her hair behind her ear. She wouldn't, but Courtney had to keep up her mother's "I hate the arts" facade. Sue didn't want anyone to know she had a secret soft spot for music (her daughter's music, really. But it was still music, right?).

"Come on, Court. We're going to be late for Chemistry," the older blonde says, grabbing Courtney by the hand and skipping away.

Sitting in her mom's office, Courtney finishes up on a new song she wrote. The girl loved music, it's a shame that her school doesn't cater to nor is very accepting of music people.

Contrary to popular belief, Sue Sylvester was a fan of music. Only if it was played by her daughter, though (and her secret list of sappy songs, but she'd never tell anyone that existed). The mother supported Courtney in all of her endeavours— dancing, singing, anything, really.

For the longest time, it was always Courtney and Sue against the world. Sue never found anyone fit to raise Courtney with her. Men were a colossal disappointment— as proven to her throughout her entire life. She was always "too independent" or "too masculine". What a joke.

After a very messy breakup with one Jackson Brown (yes, his last name is Brown), the older woman decided that she should find her happiness elsewhere. She turned to the magazines for some inspiration, but every single one told her that she hasn't found the right one yet. The woman cringed as she read the different tips and tricks to find her "Mr Right".

The revelation of wanting to be a mother didn't come easy to Sue. Growing up, she had shitty parents who couldn't be bothered to raise her or her sister. Her father shortly left after her little sister was born and her mother was... maybe we should leave that conversation for another day. The blonde had to quickly adapt to raising herself and her disabled sister. She assumed she did a good job because, even if Jean ended up in hospice, the people there loved her.

One faithful day, Sue found an advertisement on Motherhood and All Its Perks stuck to one of her magazines. She will admit that the idea repulsed her at first, but that quickly changed as she took a trip to the local orphanage.
