DISCLAIMER: THIS CHAPTER COVERS SENSITIVE TOPICS (RELIGION)

COURTNEY HAS NEVER PUT MUCH THOUGHT INTO RELIGION. Growing up, her mother never forced her into doing anything religious. Which, now that she thinks about it, is something she's extremely grateful for.

Something about not giving people a choice to believe in what they want to believe in just rubs her the wrong way.

In fact, that's exactly what happened in Glee Club this week.

Following the news of Kurt's father's heart attack, the Glee Clubbers decided to sing religious songs to try and help him feel better. Though she did not agree with the way they were handling things, she stayed quiet.

Courtney didn't want to potentially offend anyone by stating her beliefs. She just wanted a quiet week where she could comfort her friend who was going through a rough patch.

Unfortunately, that did not happen.

What did happen, was a little argument about Jesus' existence.

Kurt left the room with glassy eyes after that.

So, being the good friend that she was, she berated her other friends for making him uncomfortable.

"Guys... I know we all have our beliefs, but it's not right to push them on others. Especially those who don't share the same sentiment that we do," Courtney spoke, breaking the tense silence following Kurt's departure from the choir room.

Mercedes was about to defend herself, but Courtney held her hand up, indicating she still wanted to speak.

"I know that you all have the best intentions and only want what's best for Kurt, but look at it from his point of view. He's not like you guys, you know? He's seen as an enemy of the Church— as a freak of nature that shouldn't exist," the blonde pointed out.

"But here he is, surrounded by the people who share the same faith as his persecutors, being told to turn to their God for help in his tough time. Just imagine how much of a slap to the face that is. To have your friends telling you to turn to something that's brought you so much pain and sorrow," Courtney continued.

She turned to face her friends with a sad smile. "I'm not going to shame you all for believing in something I don't. Nor am I going to make any further comments about my beliefs. I ask that you let Kurt be for this week," Courtney sighed.

"I ask that you all respect his beliefs. Just like he has respected yours. If you think it will help, you can pray for his father. Don't, however, talk to him about it. It will only push him further away from us all," she warned.

Courtney stood up, slowly making her way to the door. "I'm going to check on him. Don't follow me, please. Just know that spirituality means something different to everyone. Let this be a lesson, guys. Don't feel too down about it, okay?" the blonde advised. She shot her friends another smile before heading off in search of her best friend.
