The next morning when I woke up, Khun Nueng wasn't lying next to me anymore. I glazed at the clock for a second. 9:25. Good. Wait, what? I sat up really fast. 9:25! Why didn't he wake me up? I went around the room to look for my clothes. At this moment, Khun entered the room. "What are you doing?" Without turning around, I answered "Why aren't you at school, Khun Nueng?" Found my clothes. I heard him sigh. "Because it's Sunday. No school on Sundays; ever heard of that?" Oh. How could I be so stupid? Of course it's Sunday. "Right." He rolled his eyes. "Come eat breakfast." Nueng said and left, closing the door.
Breakfast
"Come here. Let's eat breakfast together. I can't eat this up alone, anyway." Khun told me. "I really shouldn't-" I tried making it up to him. I knew he needed friends, and I wanted to try being his friend. Or even more than that? "No but. Just come." I nodded. "Alright." It was weird. I was having breakfast with him for the first time. I normally don't have breakfast at all. My dad keeps saying we have to treat them very well because we own them a lot. But why? It's none of my buisness anymore, right? "Have this." He said. I nodded. This is so awkward. If my dad catches us, I'm dead. Well, it doesn't really matter to me because we aren't close anyways. "Palm. Khun Nueng, why are you having breakfast with Palm? You should have it by yourself." My dad said, smiling. I'm annoyed every time he does this. He acts so tough with me, but to everyone else here in this house, he acts innocent. "Oh, I invited him." Khun Nueng casually answered. I looked at dad. "Palm. Come with me. I'm sorry." Then he bowed in front of Khun. I nodded. "Yes." He led me out of the dining room. "Listen. You shouldn't have breakfast with him. We own them a lot. You are his bodyguard! So you should also act like one." I looked at him again. My dad, he's the guilty type. "Dad, he invited me. It'd be rude to decline his request, right? And another thing. Stop acting like this thing is relevant for me, too. It isn't! It's your thing to deal with. Not mine." I just left after having said that.Next day at school
My dad stresses me a lot. I don't know why he doesn't let me come closer to Khun Nueng! Damn. Suddenly, I heard a sound. It was someone talking, no more likely, shouting. It startled me a little, because I was lost in my own thoughts. I sigh, and went to check it out. As I came closer, I could listen to the conversation. It sounded like an aggressive person, well, someone arguing." Laughter. "So it's true, huh? You really are a gay freak. Hahahaha. I always thought you weren't straight." "So what? How does it concern you?" Khun Nueng's voice. I decided to come even closer. "Well, it's just funny." I took a peek, then entered. I was furious. Who dared to hurt Khun Nueng? "What are you doing here? You are just his bodyguard. Or, maybe more?" The guy looked at his friends and they started laughing. I tried to punch him. "Oohh, I thought you were weaker. Didn't know you ever went to a Gym!" Again, they laugh. Idiots. "Palm, don't." But I overheard Khun Nueng's voice. "Well, let's see what you can do with that punch." And then he also tried hitting me. I trew a punch. And another, and another. This guy is much weaker than me. Then he hit me in the stomach, his friends surrounded me. I kicked to away. One bowed my arm. Next thing I remember, it hurt like hell. "Palm!" I heard Khun Nueng's panicked voice. The guys left, laughing. Slowly, everything turned blurry. Khun Nueng's face, while he's calling someone. The area around me. Darkness.
