I'm a little glad it's all over. Well, is it really over? I don't want to face my uncle again. What the hell is Chopper doing again? All these years I was hoping for him to say something. And I hate him for that. He never said anything against his dad. I know, he's said his dad was cruel. He was trying to stop him. But he couldn't. Damn, but why? Shoot him or something! I know, I shouldn't really hate him. Because he's my cousin. But his dad hurt Palm. And his mother. She said she was okay. But is she really okay?

I yawn. It's early in the morning, but my thoughts are running wild. I toss and turn, but I can't seem to fall asleep again. Quiet, I pushed the blanket aside. It was hot, anyway. Maybe a night swim would help. Wait, I can't swim. I hate it when I have to remind myself. Then... I'm just gonna go look at the sea.

I put my feet in the water. Ah, it really cools down me and my thoughts. Maybe I should just stop worrying for a second and enjoy the moments we are unbothered. But I can feel it, they'll find us soon. We won't be sheltered anymore for long. I hate to admit it, but I'm not sure what's going to happen when we have to run.
-"Khun Nueng."
A voice broke my thoughts.
-"Palm." I say.
-"I came looking for you. It's 5 in the morning, what took you here?"
He asked me. I looked back at him, thinking about if I should tell him what I was thinking about.
-"Well. I kinda couldn't sleep. So I came here to release my thoughts."
He nods, looking down at the little waves the sea is making.
-"Palm." I say again. This time, I know I sound anxious.
Palm seems to notice.
-"Yes, Khun Nueng?"
-"I was thinking about what happens next. You know, when we have to run again. I'm not sure about the future. I hate to say it, but I'm scared."
Worried, he scoots closer to me and slowly puts down my head on his shoulder.
-"Khun Nueng, you shouldn't worry about the future. Worry about now. This moment. We're in this together. We'll figure it out together."
I just put my head closer to him, knowing he's right.
-"Mh. Yeah, I get it. What's on your mind?"
He sighed.
-"Nothing much."
He caressed my head.
-"Palm."
-"Yes, Khun Nueng?"
-"Can we stay here a little longer?"
I ask, my voice sleepy. He says nothing, then I see him nodding.
-"Sure."

When I open my eyes, I look directly into the sun. It hurts. Then I feel something soft beneath me. It's just Palm. We are lying at the beach. Looks like we both actually just slept here. I sit up, looking at him. He looks so peaceful while sleeping. I'm sorry you have to go through all that with me. I lie down next to him, grabbing his hand softly.
-"Did you sleep well?"
Out of my thoughts again. I grin. He saves me every time.
-"Yeah, I hope you did too."
He just smiles back.
-"Should we go back? I'm sure my mother has work for us to do."
I laugh. We both laugh.
-"I'm sure about that too."

I smile when I see Palm's mother all worked up, looking for us. She left to the mall after that.
-"Looks like we have to look after the buisness."
Palm laughs.
-"Yes, she does that more often lately."
We make our way to the counter. There weren't many customers this morning. Just a couple, and some people who are here for one-night-stays.
It's so hot, that I tell Palm to make a drink for me.
-"Khun Nueng, you can't drink alcohol. Remember what happened last time?"
He just asks and laughs.
I do remember. A little embarrassed, I turn aside to drink some water.
-"Hello, I have made a reservation here."
A girl voice appears behind me.
-"Hello, what's your na-"
I stop in the middle of the sentence when I turn around and see a familiar face.
-"Maggie?"
Me and Palm say at the same time.
-"What are you doing here?" Palm asks.
-"That's what I could ask you. I wondered where you were. Here you are."
She told him.
I look at her, as if she was an alien.
-"You don't have to look at me like that."
She tells me when she notices.
-"I already know."
-"You know what?" Palm asks back.
-"That you are a couple."
I look at her in shock.
-"Since when?"
She pauses to think.
-"Well, a while now. I noticed the way Palm looks at you. It's different from when he looks at me."
She clacks her tongue.
-"Now you know. Could you show me my room, please?"
Palm smiles.
-"Yes, of course."
While they pass by, Palm smiles that smile to me, he only smiles for me.

I just noticed, I sometimes changed the typos checker with the writer probably because I was often tired. But that now is the right order, for people who are confused.
