I stormed into my mother's room.
-"Mum!"
I called out for her. Then I saw her lying in the hospital bed, the bed covers only lying halfway on her. She looked at me.
-"Son... come here."
She patted next to her on the little space left on the bed. Then I burst into tears and she went in for a hug. I squeezed her back while my tears came were rolling down my cheeks, one after another.
-"I missed you so much, mum. I really did."
I whispered into her embrace. My mother stroked my hair.
-"I'm here now, son. It's alright."
I nodded and cried even harder.Later, Palm came to visit her with me. Him in a wheelchair, me pushing it forward. My mother nodded as she saw him.
-"Good to see you, Palm. Nuengdiao told me about what happened. Seems like I missef a lot!"
She laughs and Palm smiles, unsure in what way she meant it.
-"Relax Palm."
She told him.
Palm nodded.
-"Krub."
I pushed his wheelchair in front of my mother's bed and brought a chair for myself from the small desk under the window.
-"Nuengdiao."
She said in a serious tone and took my hands.
-"Yes mum?"
First my mum looked at me, then at Palm.
-"Listen to me first before you say anything."
I nodded.
-"Of course."
-"So... I don't want Palm in any danger anymore. I don't want him to risk his life for you anymore. I want him to life a normal life."
Confused, I looked at her but she just squeezed my hands.
-"What I'm trying to say is that I don't want Palm to be your bodyguard anymore."
In shock, Palm looked at me. He looked as if he would just break into a crying waterfall.
-But Khun-"
Mother held a finger up in the air.
-"Wait. But I want you to stay but Nueng's side... as his boyfriend. You seem to make my son very happy, Palm. I like to see him like that. You know, when he was younger, he never really smiled because he barely had any friends. But everytime he's with you, he looks so inlove and has such a sweet smile. I want to keep that the way it is."
You could really see the relief in Palm's face. In the way he let out a heavy sigh as if he held his breath all the way through my mother's words.
-"Thank you, mum."
-"Thank you very much, Khun. I owe you a lot."
She just laughs it off as she always does.
-"Palm, that's okay. You have no debt with me anymore. I only need you to stay by Nuengdiao's side. You can do that, right?"
Palm nods.
-"Of course."
She nods back, it's that consenting nod.♡Pond♡
I almost thought his mother would want me to leave. That was the biggest fear I had in that moment, since I really love him. I thinks he know that very much.
-"Ahhh, it's so good to know I can continue being your boyfriend."
Nueng chuckles.
-"Yes of course. My mother isn't that cruel. Do you think your father and my mum will handle it between them because of the debt thing?"
I thought about it.
Will they? My father was always very persistent about paying of the debt he had with Nueng's family.
-"I hope so."
Nuengdiao nods.
-"But... there's still one thing I'm curious about. Why did your father owe my family debt at all?"
I cleared my throat.
-"Well, my family borrowed a loan. Since my father was poor back then, and I was just born, your family was nice enough to help my father out with a loan. In exchange, I had to be your bodyguard."
I snuggled into his lap and wrapped my hands around him.
-"My mother never told me."
Nueng stroked my hair.
-"My father also just recently told me after he got out of jail and visited me here. When he visits another time, I'll tell him to go see your mum."
I look up at him.
-"Yeah. It's for the best if they sort out the problem fast."
I nod. Then I noticed Khun Nueng being lost in thoughts and playing with my hair. I just decided to enjoy it and snuggled my head even more in his lap.-727 words
