ELEVEN:
INVISIBLE

Elsie felt as though she finally belonged. Weeks had passed and in that time Elsie had learnt new spells and potions. She learnt about magical plants, and dangerous creatures. She was even able to successfully transfigure her mouse into a pincushion!

Elsie's only problem was that she still struggled with using a wand.

In class her natural instinct was to use her own mental ability, or in other words wand-less magic. McGonagall had been working hard with the Jones girl to perfect the art of wand using, but it was proving difficult.

Mrs. Tripp on the other hand had the easier job, whether she admitted it or not. The woman refused to compliment Elsie for anything, always turning her nose up when a wand-less spell was successful. Elsie had grown to dread their lessons.

But for now Elsie refused to think of classes or lessons. It was Christmas after all!

If the girl thought Hogwarts looked magical in the autumn, she was in for a treat for the winter scenery.

The trees outlining the school were covered in white powder, the stone castle stood tall and welcoming to any on-comer who suffered from the bitter cold, and the inside was decorated with small ornaments, candles, wreaths, trees, stars, and of course, sweets. It was straight out of a snow globe.

Elsie had decided to stay at school for winter holiday, though she felt slightly guilty not visiting her foster family. But she promised to write and owl her gift.

Currently Elsie was walking with Hermione to the Great Hall to find Harry and Ron. Hermione had come up with the idea of searching the restricted section of the library, and while Elsie was nervous about it, she had to admit it made sense. The group was still on the hunt to find out who Nicholas Flamel was, and so far they had been unsuccessful. Hopefully that would change.

As the two girls walked up to Harry and Ron they caught sight of one of their chess pieces standing up and smashing the others, getting a checkmate.

"Thats totally barbaric!" Hermione exclaimed in disgust.

    "Thats totally awesome," Elsie grinned.

"Thats wizards chess," Ron looked up at them before noticing Hermione bags.

    "I see you've packed,"

"I see you haven't," Hermione shot back.

Ron shrugged, "Change of plans, my parents decided to go to Romania to visit my brother Charlie. He's studying dragons there."

"Good, you can help Elsie and Harry, then. They're going to go and look in the library for information on Nicholas Flamel." Hermione stated.

Ron groaned, "Oh come on, we've looked a hundred times,"

Hermione leaned closer so no one would overhear, "Not in the restricted section," She stood up and grabbed her bags. "Happy Christmas,"

Then she gave a nod to Elsie and strutted out the doors, leaving the three behind. "I think we've had a bad influence on her," Ron scoffed turning back to the game of chess.

    "Wanna go again?" He asked.

"I've got to go see McGonagall, maybe later." Harry sighed standing up. "You're staying right?" Harry asked Elsie who sat across from Ron.

"Yeah, we'll have the whole tower to ourselves!" Elsie laughed. The only Gryffindors staying behind were Ron, Harry, Fred, George, Percy, Morgan, and of course herself.
