____TWENTY-SEVEN:
HARRYS FANThe next morning Elsie found herself the center of attention in ever room she walked in. People she had never seen before would come up and shake her hand in admiration. Much was the same for Ron and Harry. The former however, seemed to enjoy it more.
"Elsie!" The girl stopped in her tracks and looked for who had called. It was Daphne, her blonde haired Slytherin friend.
"Daphne! Its good to see you," The girl smiled forgetting her route to the Great Hall and instead wandered over to where the girl stood.
"Yeah, yeah. Anyways is it true that you flew into the Whomping Willow?" Daphne leaned forward in interest.
"Well- not on purpose," Elsie scratched the back of her neck modestly.
Instead of being impressed Daphne flicked Elsie on the forehead, "Dummy, are you trying to die on the first day?"
Elsie rubbed the spot with a sly grin, "I'm surprised you care,"
"I don't," The girl huffed crossing her arms. "I'm just trying to keep you humble,"
"Well thanks I guess." Elsie was used to the girls strange behavior, in fact she had grown to care for it.
Before the two could continue on with the conversation a young girl with black long hair and piercing blue eyes called out, "Daph!"
Daphne paled and pushed Elsie away, "We can talk more later, I have to go."
"Wait! Why?" Elsie stopped the blonde.
"I have homework," Daphne explained before dashing off away from the girl.
Homework? Really? That was the best she could come up with? School hadn't even started yet.
Brushing the encounter off Elsie decided to just ask about it later. For now she wanted to grab breakfast and get her timetable.
When she entered the Great Hall she was greeted with yelling.
"-AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! YOUR FATHER'S NOW FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK, AND IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT! IF YOU PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE, WE'LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT HOME!"
Elsie faltered in fear, recognizing the voice as Mrs. Weasley. But the woman wasn't in the hall. Instead a red envelope in the shape on a mouth was screaming at a beet red Ron.
Ignoring the eyes that bored into her Elsie ducked her head and slumped down next to Harry. The envelope blew a raspberry and Ron before bursting into flames and falling down onto the toast.
"Good morning?" Elsie tried.
"Well I don't know what you expected Ronald but-" Hermione started before Ron cut her off, "Don't tell me I deserved it!"
Elsie shared a guilty look with Harry before helping herself to some toast. However before she could take a bite Persephone flew down along with the rest of the school owls, carrying mail.
