____THIRTY:
HISTORY REPEATSHermione had led them to the library, which until then Elsie had been trying to avoid.
The girl came out from behind a book shelf, holding an open thick book, "Here it is, the Polyjuice Potion." She lowered her voice and began to read. "Properly brewed, the Polyjuice Potion allows the drinker to transform himself temporarily into the physical form of another."
Elsie shared a skeptic look with Harry and Ron. "Think about it, we could transform into four different Slytherins and talk to Malfoy. Nobody would know its us, he's probably boasting about it in the Slytherin common room right now, if only we could hear him..." Hermione trailed off.
"So if we turn into someone he trusts, you really think he'll tell us?" Elsie wondered, it almost sounded to good to be true. She was certain there was a catch.
"Malfoy's a git. He'll brag to anyone at any given chance," Ron pointed out.
"Exactly, but its tricky. I've never seen a more complicated potion," Hermione frowned scanning over the pages.
"How long will it take to make?" Harry asked.
"About a month," The girl look up from the book.
"A month?! But, Hermione... if Malfoy is the Heir of Slytherin, he could attack half the Muggle-borns in the school by then!" Harry exclaimed.
Elsie shared a private look with Hermione. They both knew better than the others how risky this was, especially since they were muggle-born.
"Well," Elsie started, "Its the only plan we've got."

That evening was the seasons very first Quidditch match, but unfortunately Elsie had to miss out because of her wand-less magic practice.
Which was going terribly.
"Stop!" Professor Tripp scolded, floating down to where the girl stood in the empty classroom. "You're doing it wrong."
Elsie swallowed back her retort and listened to the ghost explain exactly how to hold her arms. "Again."
Focusing on her emotions, Elsie glared down the ink pot from across the room before thrusting her arm out in front of her, willing it to fly to her.
"No!" The ghost shrieked.
"Are you so dim witted that you cannot follow instructions! Your focus is all wrong!" Tripp bellowed when Elsie failed once more.
Elsie's patience was wearing thin, she had been in the room for several hours now, and she was hoping to at least catch the end of the match.
"You're making it too complicated. When you're in battle, and you need to use wand-less magic, your enemy isn't going to wait for you to hone in on your emotions. You need to be faster, alerted." The woman instructed, glaring down at the girl as if she were the biggest inconvenience.
