____TWENTY-EIGHT:
SLUGGEDWhile Elsie wasn't Lockharts biggest fan, she still hoped his class would be interesting, however the only thing the girl had learned after having Cornish Pixies set on the class was that the Professors favorite color was lime.
Or was it lilac?
Point being the class was a huge let down. It seemed as though they would have to go through another year of a disappointing DADA class.
The week had passed slowly as the lessons properly began, already flooded with schoolwork the girl was relieved when the weekend finally rolled around.
However she couldn't help but begin to feel excited for the following week as her private lessons with McGonagall and Tripp would presume. She had learnt a lot last year, and she was hopeful for the same results this year.
It was around 8:30 when Elsie properly woke. She found that Lavender, Morgan, and Parvati were still soundly sleeping, but Hermione's bed was empty.
Elsie quickly got ready and was about to go find her friend when she ran into a ginger girl on the stairs.
"Ginny! How's your classes been?" Elsie stopped, happy to see the younger girl.
"They've been great! The other day, in Transfiguration, McGonagall transformed her desk into a pig!" The girl exclaimed.
"Nice! Where are you off to now?" Elsie questioned.
"Nowhere important, want to go to breakfast?" Ginny offered hopefully, gaining an eager nod from the brunette.
The two girls exited the common room, talking wildly of stories from their week. Elsie had earned a harsh shush from a fourth year Ravenclaw when she laughed a little too loudly as Ginny informed her of how Lockhart had tried to make a grand entrance on the first day of class, and instead tripped down the stairs from his office.
After eating they decided to go their separate ways and meet up later. Alone again Elsie set off across the courtyard to find her friends, surprisingly it didn't take long.
They were standing with the Gryffindor and Slytherin Quidditch teams, in a very heated discussion.
"Whats going on?" Elsie questioned to Ron as she stepped up next to him.
"Malfoy," Ron explained through gritted teeth. Upon examining the Slytherin Quidditch team closer Elsie noticed its new member.
"Those are Nimbus 2001! How did you get those?" Ron exclaimed noticing the teams new brooms.
Marcus Flint, team captain smirked, "Gift from Dracos father,"
The blonde stood taller and sneered, "You see, Weasley, unlike some, my father can afford the best."
Elsie resisted the urge to roll her eyes and congratulate the boy on wasting his money on some ugly brooms.
Hermione sniffed, "At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in. They got in on pure talent." Elsie grinned at her friend proudly.
