Addicted to Chaos - Dave Mustaine Fanfic

Metal Festival

Lily was packing her bag and grabbing her things from the bathroom to get ready for the festival, she folded her clothes and put them in the bag. Dave came into the room with a cigarette in his mouth, "Are you almost done? We need to leave soon." Lily nodded and zipped up her bag, "Yeah, how far is the festival?" Dave looked down at his watch, "We'll be there by about 6:30 the festival starts at 8, we need to be there early for sound check." Lily nodded and stood up and pulled the bag over her head. They left the house, Junior, Gar, and Mike were taking different cars.

Lily followed behind Dave closely as they walked backstage, there were other bands setting up and getting ready, Dave opened one of the rooms and they went inside. He set his guitar down and stretched, "I really didn't want to fucking come to this thing." Lily sat down on the couch, "Why not?" She looked up to him, "Cause usually the other bands are fucking annoying and they never mind their own business. The stage crew never minds their own business either." Lily hummed in understanding, the door opened, Mike and Junior came in carrying their cases. "Gar's helping somebody set up his drums." Mike said and Dave nodded, Dave opened the cooler and grabbed a beer handing it to Lily she took it. Gar came in a few minutes later, Lily was sitting next to Dave with her legs across his thighs. A man opened the door, Lily turned her head around to see who came in, "Hi, I'm here to let you know that soundcheck will be in about 10 minutes, I'm also here to drop off passes." The man brought in a box of passes to which he gave each of them. Lily put it around her neck and Dave and the others left theirs on the table, "Keep that on, you might get kicked out without it." Lily smiled warmly, Dave placed his hand on her thigh and squeezed lightly.

Lily pulled her hair up into a ponytail while the guys grabbed their stuff, she followed them out of the room towards the stage, she stopped and waited for them to finish sound check, there were a lot of people and a lot of different bands. Lily turned her head around watching as people ran around stressfully trying to get everything ready. She noticed Daniel standing plucking out some notes on a bass. She squinted her eyes in confusion. She walked towards him away from the stage, "Hey, nice seeing you here." Daniel looked up from his bass to see her, "Hey, what are you doing here, the festival doesn't start for another hour." Lily shrugged, "I came with a friend, he's playing tonight." Daniel nodded, "Is that how you got a backstage pass I assume? Unless you snuck in here and stole one." Lily rolled her eyes, "Yes, that is exactly what I did. You caught me!" Daniel smiled, "I wouldn't put it past you, who'd you come with?" Lily looked back at the stage, "The tall ginger with the guitar." She pointed at Dave who was playing. "You came with Dave Mustaine? I find that hard to believe, isn't he an asshole? I saw his interview on MTV the other day, he seems like a dick." Lily shook her head, "He's not, he's just a little...." Lily thought for a second for the right word. "Aggressive..sometimes." She shrugged, "Still, he doesn't seem like a guy to be hanging out with." Lily looked down picking at her nail before she looked up again, "What are you doing here?" She broke the awkward silence, "I play for Hell Raiser, as their bassist, but you could probably figure that out." Lily laughed a little, "Yeah, makes sense why you would have a Hell Raiser shirt!" Daniel smiled down at her until Dave wrapped his arm around Lily's waist, "We're done, do you wanna go hang out for a bit before the show?" He asked her softly, Lily nodded. "It was nice seeing you again Daniel." Daniel nodded, "It was good seeing you too, hopefully I'll see you at the afterparty?" Lily answered, "Yeah, we should be there!" Dave gave a warning look to Daniel and Daniel returned it with a sharp glare. Dave pulled Lily away, "Why the hell were you talking to that douche bag?" Dave asked, "Cause I know him?" She looked up at Dave who was looking forward, "Cool." Lily rolled her eye's frustratingly.

An hour of awkward tension between Lily and Dave finally ended when they were called on stage to get ready to go on. Gar, Mike, and Junior left, Dave followed behind them. Lily stood and followed, before they went on Lily grabbed Dave's arm and turned him around. "Good luck, I'm gonna go join the audience!" Lily pressed her hand on his cheek and stood on her toes kissing the other side of his face. Dave smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist hugging her. She hugged him back before someone called his name. Lily let go and started walking over to the stairs so she could go stand with everyone else.
