This is kind of a shorter chapter and I'm sorry for that but I tried to keep this chapter going without it dragging! I hope you enjoy!
Dave wasn't doing very well, he was really stressed about the concerts coming up and his anxiety was worsening. Lily was battling with her own addiction all while trying to help Dave with his problems. The after party was crowded and people were constantly coming up to Dave asking him questions and to take photos. Lily leaned against the wall crossing her arms as more people crowded around Dave. Junior walked up to Lily and stood beside her, "How are you feeling?" Lily answered without hesitation, "Annoyed. It's not Dave's fault but people keep bothering him and I think he's getting stressed out." Lily turned her head looking at Junior as she spoke, "Yeah, the people are getting a little overwhelming I won't lie. Do you want to come sit on the couch with me? Dave will make his way over soon." Junior asked and Lily nodded following him to the couch, they sat and talked for a bit.
"So, a little late to be asking this question but how did you and Dave meet?" David smiled at the question, "It's kind of a uh, funny story." Lily furrowed her eyebrows, "Funny how?" David shrugged, "I guess because I wasn't expecting to become friends with him. Me and my roomate, Brad, noticed this blonde haired shoeless guy walking around our apartment complex and Brad mentioned something about wanting to talk to him. A couple days later me and Brad were listening to music and we heard somebody scream, 'Shut the fuck up' and a flowerpot fell from the apartment above ours and hit our airconditioner unit." Lily laughed while taking a sip of her beer before Dave continued, "I used to live in Michigan before I moved to LA and that made me realize Michigan and California are filled with two different types of people. So me and Brad a day or two later went upstairs and heard loud music so we knew that it was that blonde guy's apartment and we knocked on the door and asked where we could get cigarettes and Dave opened the door and just angrily told us 'Down the street on the corner.' Slammed the door on our faces. Then we asked where we could get some drinks and Dave realized all we wanted to do was hang out so he let us in. And we kinda became friends from there." Lily smiled, she thought about younger Dave and what he looked like, his hair was much shorter but it was still kind of shaggy and fluffy like it is now. "I wonder why he was barefoot." She thought out loud. Lily wished she spent more time with him in '79, it made her sad thinking about the fact that they could have been together sooner if he stayed in contact.
Dave stumbled over a few minutes later he looked drunk, his eyes were red and the circles under his eyes were darker than usual. He had an angry annoyed expression on his face. He slouched down on the couch next to Lily. He put his arm over her shoulder. Dave leaned in and started kissing Lily's neck, he smiled and rubbed her thigh his hand squeezing it often, "Dave, I'm not in the mood." Lily told him and pushed him off of her, she folded her arms over her chest annoyed. Dave huffed, "Of course you're not in the mood. Why are you being such a bitch all the time, huh? You're the one who asked me out, shouldn't you be less of a bitch when you're the one who wanted to be my girlfriend?" Dave slurred his words rambling on about how it wasn't fair. "Will you cut it out? Just because I'm not in the mood because you're drunk off your ass doesn't mean I'm being a bitch." Dave grumbled, "Yeah, but you're being a bitch all the time, it's not just now. All you do is complain about shit." Lily's snapped her head towards him, "Are you fucking kidding me?!" Lily got up angrily stepping past Dave walking away from the couch, "Lily wait!" Junior yelled following her, Lily's eyes were tearing up. She stormed down the hallway finding a bathroom and shutting the door behind herself, Junior knocked on the door worriedly. "Lily, let me in, please. I know you're upset and you probably want to be left alone but please let me in." Lily listened to his words, she wiped the tears from her eyes and took a deep breath before she opened the door. Junior stepped inside and shut the door. "He didn't mean any of that, he's just drunk and today's been a long day so he's saying shit he doesn't mean." Lily stared at the ground, she was still angry about what he said but there had been a shitload of times she's said things she doesn't mean to people when she was drunk.
After a few minutes Junior and Lily came back from the bathroom, there was a girl sitting next to Dave she was practically grinding herself against Dave, Dave was falling in and out of consciousness, every time he opened his eyes fully he tried telling her to stop and that he wasn't interested. Lily's face got red, her hands balled into the fists, a few veins bulged in her arm. Lily stormed over and grabbed the woman's arm dragging her off of Dave. Lily hooked the sleaze in the nose. She tumbled a little falling to the floor, Lily kicked the woman in her stomach hard, Lily heard a crack as she kept kicking the girl. "Keep your fucking hands off of him!" Lily screamed, Junior pulling Lily away. Lily looked at Dave and noticed he was okay for the most part aside from the few lines of coke on the table in front of him. Now she felt like punching him too. A few girls helped the woman up giving dirty looks at Lily, "What a bitch." One of them mumbled, Lily went over quickly to Dave, "Are you okay?" She kissed his cheek hugging him, Dave weakly pushed her away, "Get the fuck off me. You just screamed at me and now you want to hug me?" Dave slurred, "I could hit you pretty fucking hard right now. Don't be a dick." She grabbed his arm and helped him up. Junior slung his arm around Dave holding Dave at the waist and Dave put his arm around Junior's shoulder. Lily looked down at the lines laid out neatly on the table. 'One line wouldn't fuck me up that much right?' Lily hesitantly thought about snorting just one line. The devil talking on her left shoulder, 'One line never killed anybody. Dave's too fucked to notice anyway.' The angel talking on her other, 'You're trying to get better, whether Dave knows or not doesn't matter. It's up to you and you alone to stop the cycle.' Lily sighed and grabbed Dave's beer, taking a sip of it as she followed Dave and Junior out of the house.
Lily changed into one of Dave's shirts and put on a pair of her shorts. Junior helped Lily undress Dave down to his boxers. Dave was slouching and falling back all the while. Lily's never seen him like this and she worried that he had to put up with this too when she was doped up on coke. Lily laid down in bed and rested her head on the pillow, Chris and Gar were out at some bar according to Junior. "Hey, will you be okay if I go meet with Gar and Chris? You can call the bar and ask for me if you need me." Lily nodded, she wasn't worried about needing Junior, Dave just needed rest. Junior left a few moments later and Dave shuffled in his sleep, he turned over and put his head on Lily's chest. He opened his eyes and looked up to see Lily, "You're so pretty, did I tell you that already?" Lily smiled a little, "Not today you haven't." Dave gasped, "I didn't tell you that today? What is wrong with me?" Dave put his head back down on Lily's chest. She heard sniffling and Dave's heartbeat increased so did his breathing. "Hey, what's wrong? Look at me." Lily said worriedly, lifting Dave's head so she could look at him. He was crying hard, red eyes closed. Lily kissed his forehead, "It's okay, I'm right here." She ran her hand down his back and squeezed him into a hug, "I thought I was getting better, I was doing fine without them but a few guys came over and they started lining the coke right there and I thought one line wouldn't do any harm." Lily shushed him and ran her fingers through his long curly ginger locks. The mop of ginger hair cried more quietly now until he was softly snoring laying on Lily's chest. Lily kissed the top of his head before laying her head back down on the pillow, she let out a sigh before falling asleep. Lily needed to keep the drugs away from Dave as best that she could and help him focus on why they were on tour.
