Birthday Boy

Lily and Junior wandered through the mall, Dave's birthday was in a few days and Lily was at a stand still, she had no idea what to get a man that had everything. Lily had been working shifts at the diner to save up on some extra cash to get him something. Lily turned to look at Junior, "What are you getting him?" She asked although she already asked him twice before and it still hadn't given her any ideas like she hoped it would. "I'm getting him a new amp. For the third time." He chuckled although Lily didn't find it funny. She was on the verge of freaking out. "Calm down, we're here to find something." Lily was also a bit uneasy because Dave had been super busy preparing for the new album, the album comes out in 9 days and he's been going to a lot of interviews with the band or by himself, he's been at the recording studio a lot or in the studio at the house. They've hardly spent any time together and Dave was snapping at Lily more.

Lily followed Junior as they went into the store and Junior started looking at a couple of different amps, Lily wandered around the store looking at different records. Junior bought an amp and had the store clerk hold it for him until they were ready to leave the mall so he didn't have to carry it around. Lily let out a shaky worried breath, Junior placed his hand on her upper back, "It'll be okay." Suddenly there were a few gasps and laughs of shock, Junior and Lily turned around to see a few girls walking up to them, "Hi David! Could you get some pictures with us?" Junior looked a little frantic before he smiled and agreed, Lily looked away and saw a store in the corner, loud music coming from it, the outside was painted black, "Hey, I'll be right back!" Lily said before walking towards the store filled with curiousity, Junior nodded before turning back to the girls.

Lily pulled back the black curtain that hid the store from the people passing by. Lily looked around, it was a classic lingerie store, she smiled. She looked around for a few minutes before a woman approached her, "Do you need any help finding anything?" Lily looked up at the long haired woman, "Yeah, I'm looking for something to wear for my boyfriend? It's his birthday in a couple of days. I'm gift shopping." Lily lied instead of explaining the entire situationship to this random woman. The woman nodded, "I think I have the perfect thing!" Lily followed the women over to a mannequin who was dressed in a hot pink bra and underwear, "Pink isn't really his thing. Do you have anything in lace? And black more preferably?" The woman nodded, "Of course!" She showed Lily a black lace bra with a little red bow in the front and matching underwear. "This is perfect! Thank you!" The woman smiled, "I can check you out once you're done trying it on." Lily nodded and went back to the dressing room. It fit perfectly, so she decided to get it. As she was checking out there was a box of rings next to her, she started looking through them curiously and found a dark black ring, etched on the inside was an engraved heart. "How much are these rings?" The sales woman looked up, "Oh, they're $10 dollars, an extra 5 if you want to put it in a box." Lily set it down, "Can I get this one please?" The woman nodded and rang up the total. Lily did a mental face slap when she heard the price but she wasn't working the past few weeks for nothing. The total cost 5 dollars less than she had, meaning she would have to fast when they went out for Dave's birthday dinner.

Carrying the slick black bag, the lingerie was in a box thankfully so Dave couldn't peek in the bag and see what she got when she brought it back to his house. Lily walked back to Junior with a smile on her face, "I am less stressed now! I found a gift, kind of two." Junior smiled, "That's great! What did you find?" The girls he was previously surrounded by were gone now. Lily pulled the little dark blue ring box out of the bag, she opened it and showed it to Junior, he smiled, "Lily, he's going to love it." He said seriously she smiled knowing that Junior approved.

Once Junior dropped Lily off at Dave's house they said goodbye, Junior and Dave's new amp drove off. Lily went into the house and heard Dave playing his guitar in the music room, Lily opened the door slightly hoping she wasn't intruding too much and he was in a decent mood. Dave looked up from his guitar, his guitar sitting in his lap, "Hey pretty girl! How was the mall?" Lily smiled, "It was pretty good!" Lily pulled the bag behind herself weakly trying to keep Dave from seeing it. "What's in the bag?" He asked with a smile on his face, "Oh, this?!" She held out the bag looking at it, "It's nothing! Not important." Lily shut the door quickly and started walking back down the hall with a smile on her face. Dave opened the door and followed her down the hall, "I want to see!" Dave begged, "You don't get to see! You have to wait 3 more days! Just 3 and you get to see what's in the bag!" Dave rolled his eyes, grabbing Lily's waist and pulling her in kissing her lips. Lily was a little surprised at first, she wasn't expecting it so casually like that. They only kissed when they were under the influence of something, Lily melted into the kiss. She felt Dave's hand climb down her arm trying to grab the bag, she laughed a little keeping her lips on his as she pulled the bag away from his hand. They pulled away, "You can't just kiss me and expect to see your present early!" Dave chuckled, "It was worth a try!"
