"You know he's not going to wake up anytime soon." Victoria said as she set the tray of food down in front of Lily. Lily's eyelids were heavy with sleep. It's been four days since the incident. "I know, but I don't want to be anywhere else." She said, looking up at Victoria wearily. "I'll stay with you then." Victoria sat down next to Lily and wrapped her arms around her, holding her gently, "I'm sorry this happened, it's not your fault. Please don't blame yourself." Lily wrapped her arms around Victoria, "I shouldn't have yelled at him. I was just mad. I'm still kind of mad, is that wrong?" Lily pulled away slightly, looking at Victoria. "That's not wrong at all. You can feel angry with his actions, but don't take your anger out on him. He needs you to be understanding and caring." Lily nodded, she let out a sigh, "I know." She leaned back into the chair and stared at the food sitting in front of her, "And you need to eat." Victoria reminded her, Lily sighed, "I don't have an appetite right now." Lily said standing up, "I'll be right back."She left the room and walked down the crowded hallways, she left the building and pulled her pack of cigarettes out of her pocket along with her lighter. She found a bench and sat down, Lily put a cigarette between her lips and lit it. She took in a long breath letting the smoke fill her lungs. She pulled the cigarette away from her lips and pushed the smoke from her lungs into the air. She looked up to see David walking towards the entrance past Lily. He gave her a small smile before he stopped in front of her, "Can I sit?" She nodded and he sat down next to her. "How are you doing?" She shrugged, "As well as I can be I guess." There was silence between them for a moment, Lily spoke, "I'm sorry, about what happened the other day. I was stressed out, it's not your fault. I was angry with Dave, not you." He nodded at Lily's words, "I know. I just got defensive," he said softly, "...Is there any news?" he asked. Lily shook her head, "He hasn't woken up yet and he hasn't gotten worse." David nodded, "That's good," David stood and looked down at Lily, "Are you coming in?" Lily met his eyes, "No, I'll come back in a little bit." David nodded before he walked away.
Lily came back in a few minutes later after she had finished her cigarette. Around 6 PM Victoria and David took off, "You're going to stay here again tonight?" Victoria asked, Lily nodded sleepily, her head resting on her hand. "Yeah, I'll talk to you tomorrow?" She asked looking up at Victoria, she smiled softly, "Of course. Call me if you need anything, okay?" Lily nodded with a gentle smile. As soon as they left Lily leaned back in the chair she was sitting in and folded her arms over her chest. She leaned her head back against the windowsill, staring at the ceiling and slowly letting herself fall asleep.
'Dad, you have to let me see her! Please.'
'Stop arguing with me. I already told you, she's really sick, Lily. The doctors hardly let me see her, you don't want to see her like this.'
'She's my mother! I don't care, I want to see her. You have to let me see her.'
'She doesn't want you to see her like this. You're so difficult.'
Lily scoffed, 'I'm difficult? I'm the difficult one?! You're the one who won't even let his own daughter see her mother before she dies! You're such a fucking prick!'
Lily ran up the stairs slamming her bedroom door behind her, she picked up her phone and dialed Dave's house phone, praying anyone would pick up and tell her where he is. The call went through after three rings. 'Hello? Is Dave there?'
'I'm sorry, who is this?'
'Lily. Thompson? Is Dave Mustaine there? Can you tell me how to reach him?'
'I'm sorry, I don't know who that is. I wish I could help you.' The phone clicked.
Lily pulled the phone from her ear, 'You're such a fucking dick!' She screamed, throwing it into the wall with a loud thud, the wall dented.
