Pool Day

The light seeped in through the window, the curtain didn't fight off much of the light. It was drawing closer to noon when a knock came from Dave and Lily's room. Dave was asleep on his stomach, one of his arms was draped over Lily's chest, she was asleep on her back. Dave groaned, opened his eyes and brushed his hair away from his face, he stood and stretched before pulling the blankets back over Lily, she was still sleeping heavily. Dave went to the door and opened it slowly, Junior and Victoria were at the door wearing their bathing suits, "Seriously? When I said we were going to relax today, I meant on our own terms." Dave groaned, leaning his forehead against the doorframe, Victoria smiled, "Then we'll see you two down there, soon?" She asked hopefully, "Yeah, sure." Dave said before Junior chuckled at the very obvious annoyed look on Dave's face. He shut the door swiftly and went back to the bedroom.

"Who was at the door?" Lily asked softly, she was now sitting up in bed holding a lit cigarette between her fingers and an ashtray sat on the bed in front of her. "Junior and Victoria, they're going down to the pool." Lily hummed, putting the cigarette between her lips, "We don't have to go down yet, do we?" She asked with a smile, grabbing the ashtray and setting it down on the nightstand beside her, she put the cigarette in it. Dave sat down beside her, Lily moved closer to him putting her hand on his thigh. "No, we don't have to go down until you want to." Dave said brushing his hand through her messy hair, "How did you sleep?" Dave wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her closer, she laid her head on his shoulder while pulling her leg over his, "I slept pretty well, I was too drunk not to sleep well." Lily laughed a little which made Dave smile. He ran his hand down her back before gliding his fingertips softly over her bare skin underneath her shirt. Goosebumps flooded her skin, she leaned in and kissed Dave's neck. "Do you want to go out to dinner tonight?" Dave asked, Lily pulled away looking up at him, "Just the two of us?" Lily furrowed her eyebrows as her lips tugged into a small smile, "Yeah, just the two of us. We'll dress appropriately unlike yesterday." Lily laughed and kissed him, Dave wasted no time pushing Lily on to her back, he held her hips pulling her hips into his own with a groan, their lips still connected. Lily wrapped her arms around his neck, Dave ran his tongue across her bottom lip, she parted her lips a bit granting him access. After a few moments Lily pulled away taking in a deep gasp of air, her cheeks were flushed pink, "I don't want to have to shower twice today." She laughed and Dave groaned with a smile rolling his eyes. He got off of Lily and pulled his shirt off, "I will wait for later than." He sighed before grabbing a pair of shorts from his suitcase.

After they changed, they went down to the pool, there were a couple other people including Junior and Victoria there. Victoria was sunbathing and Junior was sitting beside her with a magazine, he was reading to her outloud and Dave almost started laughing, "You are such a princess." Lily chuckled sitting in a chair beside Victoria. Victoria pulled her sunglasses up to her forehead and squinted her eyes to look at Lily, "Will you stop judging, I'm trying to get a nice tan and not be bored out of my mind." Victoria said, pulling her glasses back over her eyes, Lily laid back in the chair and Dave sat in the one beside her.

A few minutes later Junior and Lily were in the pool since they were the only ones who wanted to get in,  "Victoria's pretty nice, she snores really loudly though." Junior said, smiling to himself at the recollection of her snoring. Lily smiled, "Yeah she snores pretty bad, I am glad that you two are getting along though. Dave said you would probably like her." Lily pulled herself up and sat on the edge of the pool, Junior standing in the pool a few feet in front of her. "How are you and Charlotte?" Lily asked, swaying her legs back and forth in the water. "Oh, we broke up right before Christmas." Junior said softly, he seemed upset by it. "I'm sorry, is there anything I can do?" She asked looking at him, Junior shook his head, "Nah, she was kind of a bitch anyway. Honestly, I think she was just using me but she would never admit to it." Lily laughed, "She seemed like that, regardless, I'm sorry it didn't work out. You'll find someone, you're a good guy, David." Lily said softly, Junior smiled and looked up at Lily, "Thank you." He said, Lily nodded before she looked up and saw Dave standing up.

Dave walked over and looked down at Lily, "I'm going to get some food at the food court. Do you want to come with me?" Lily looked up at him and nodded, "Yeah, I'm getting kind of hungry." She stood up and looked down at Junior, "Do you want us to get you anything?" She asked him but Junior shook his head. Lily grabbed her towel and dried off her legs so she wouldn't leave wet footprints throughout the hotel. Victoria requested a bagel with puppy dog eyes, Lily agreed to get it for her and Dave and Lily went back to the hotel. "What were you talking to Junior about?" Dave asked, Lily looked up at him, "He was telling me about how he thinks Victoria is nice, but she snores a lot." Lily smiled and Dave looked down at her with an 'I told you so' expression on his face, "I knew they would get along, and yet you doubted me!" He exaggerated, Lily rolled her eyes, "I did not doubt you! You told me why you think they would get along. I never said I thought they wouldn't." Dave threw up his hands defensively, "Alright alright, stop your whining." He laughed, Lily groaned. Once they got lunch they went back to the pool and ate it there, a few hours passed and Dave and Lily were getting ready for dinner.

Dave called a few hours ago and made reservations at a restaurant a few blocks away. Lily went over to Victoria and David's room. She knocked gently and Victoria opened the door, "Hey! What's up?" She asked worriedly, assuming something was wrong, "Can you help me do my hair?" Lily asked, smiling in embarrassment. "Oh, yeah!" Victoria let her in and they went to the bathroom. Victoria started to curl Lily's hair, "I don't know why you didn't just leave your hair the way it is, it always looks good natural." She said, pulling Lily's hair around the curling iron. "If I leave it how it is naturally it's frizzy, and if I brush it out, it turns into a big ball of fluff." Lily sighed. Victoria smiled, "I would die to have your hair!" Victoria laughed, "Actually, I think I would rather die to have Dave's hair. Aren't you jealous that your own boyfriend has better hair than you?" She asked with a giggle, Lily rolled her eyes, "He does not have better hair than me." Lily scoffed.

Once Victoria was finished she combed through the tight curls to loosen them and make them look more natural. "You are officially done! Where are you going for dinner?" Victoria asked unplugging the iron from the wall. "I'm not sure what it's called, Dave made the reservations earlier, all he said was to dress well." Lily said, Victoria almost squealed with excitement, "What are you planning on wearing?" She asked happily looking at Lily with big eyes, "I was going to wear a nice shirt and a pair of jeans, I didn't really bring anything fancy and I doubt Dave's wearing anything ridiculously nice." Victoria rolled her eyes at Lily's words, "You can wear one of the dresses I brought, and in return you can let me borrow something to wear hiking tomorrow! Deal?" Victoria looked serious when she held out her hand to shake Lily's, "Fine. Deal." Lily shook Victoria's hand.

Victoria made Lily try on a few dresses each time she had her put on a new dress Victoria said it was perfect and Lily should definitely wear that one. But each dress Lily put on Victoria liked the next one even better. Eventually they had run through all the dresses Victoria had brought and they settled on a black skin tight dress which had sheer long sleeves. "You look gorgeous! I hope you have fun! Tell me about it tomorrow on the hike, okay?" Victoria said bursting with happiness, "Alright, I will, I should get going now though." Lily said, adjusting the sleeves, before hugging Victoria and leaving. "Have fun!" Junior said to Lily before she left.
