Tour Bus

The weeks flew by quickly, Christmas had passed in a whirl and they were so flooded with their busy schedules Dave and Lily hardly had time with each other.

Lily dragged her hands up Dave's back, as he hunched over the counter staring at the tour dates and locations. She leaned her cheek against his shoulder peeking over it, she looked at the paper. "When do you have to leave for the tour?" Dave turned his head just enough to make eye contact with her, "You mean when 'we' have to leave." He corrected. Lily rolled her eyes, "Fine, when do 'we' have to leave." A mischievous smile crept onto his lips. "In a week. So I would find a good stopping point with your wedding planning so you can take a couple months hiatus." A low rumble erupted from Lily's throat in protest. "You mean, 'our' wedding planning." Lily corrected him, although he was extremely busy he was still trying his best to add his input to the wedding planning when he could.

Lily spent the past few weeks planning everything to a tee. So a sudden pause on the planning she was finally getting a hang of wasn't pleasing to hear. Lily turned her head in towards Dave's neck. "I miss you..." Lily whispered softly. A small smirk snuck its way onto Dave's face. "I miss you too." He said, turning his head to look at her. He moved his arm over her head so he could grab a fistful of her hair. He pulled her into a deep kiss before pulling her head away, disconnecting their lips. "I really have to do this and if you stay here I'm going to do someone else instead." Dave whispered against Lily's lips. Her lips curved up, a big smile plastered on her face. "Fine, I'll go pack then." She pulled away from him and went upstairs.

When Dave and Lily got onto the tour bus Lily was met with David's familiar face. "Hey, haven't seen you in a while. How are you doing?" She smiled brightly and wrapped her arms around his body, David doing the same. "Good, just extremely busy. I never knew kids needed so much care. I thought they just slept all day and then you feed them and change them and put them back to bed. I was so fucking wrong." He smiled, but the dark circles under his eyes and the tension in his shoulders was apparent. "I'm just glad the album is out and we're back on tour. But I am going to miss my girls like crazy." Lily smiled back at him, "At least it isn't for forever, they'll be waiting for you when you get home. Besides, you have me and I may not be your girlfriend or your kid but I'm still fun!" David laughed at Lily's comment.

A few moments later Jeff walked into the bus, "Are you fucking kidding me." Lily mumbled under her breath. "David Mustaine." Lily hissed at him. Dave's eyes went wide, he had forgotten to tell her that they couldn't find another guitarist in time who could learn all the songs and play for the tour. Dave drug Lily to the back of the bus and to the bathroom.

"Don't bust my balls! Lil, don't. We couldn't find anyone in time who could learn the songs. We had to, it certainly wasn't my fucking decision you know that." Lily cut Dave off before he could continue, "Dave. Jeff's a dick, we both know that. I don't trust you to keep your hands to yourself. I know you, and you are going to commit murder if he looks at me the wrong way." Dave sighed, he knew she was right but he was hoping that he could keep his anger under control. "You better pray he doesn't do anything because you'll be in jail and I can't bail you out." Lily left the bathroom before Dave could respond.

Lily was of course going to ignore Jeff, because she didn't like him but also because she didn't want to provoke Dave or provoke Jeff into thinking she was interested in him. Jeff was a cocky man, he thought highly of himself and assumed every woman who thanked him for a drink was interested in getting in bed with him.

Chuck was there to ease the tension and so was David. They were nice cushions in the conversations, drawing the conversations away from anything that could cause an argument. By the end of the night everyone was pretty drunk and Lily had been chain smoking cigarettes with everyone else. She practically forgot about her problem until she took too deep of an inhale and ended up coughing. Her lungs felt like they were collapsing in on themselves, she shut her eyes tightly. Suddenly the clouded smoke filled room was suffocating her, the boys got quiet when they realized she wasn't stopping. "Lily." Dave sprung up and wrapped in arm around her, she started wheezing. She grabbed an iron hold on the couch, pushing the ashtray off and spilling the ashes all over the floor. "Fuck!" Jeff yelled, "Now we gotta clean that up!" He complained loudly, Dave forced Lily to stand up and took her into the bathroom. She covered her hands over her mouth and hunched over as blood splattered across her hands in droplets. "Jesus Christ." Dave grabbed toilet paper and wiped her mouth. "Shhhh...you're okay." Dave rubbed her back as she coughed.

He didn't know what to do, there wasn't much he could do. Lily whined, "Again?" she whispered as she was wiping her mouth of the blood and lightly coughing. "Again?" Dave repeated, "What the fuck do you mean again, Lily? This has happened before?" She looked up at him, "Yeah. I thought it was going to go away." She admitted quietly, "Are you fucking kidding me? How often has this happened?" Dave pushed harder, his face twisting into an angry expression. "Just twice!" Lily tried defending herself, Dave barked back, "It has happened twice and you didn't think to tell your fiánce?" He was hurt that she felt she couldn't confide in him. Although that wasn't true, she hadn't told him. "I'm sorry." Lily frowned, coughing a little more.

Dave left the bathroom, angry. He walked into the main area and picked up his beer bottle. He took a long swig before looking at Jeff, "What do you have on you?" Dave asked, Jeff smiled. "A lot, how fucked up do you want to be?"
