32. Aftermath

Just then John appeared.

Sera: "JOHN!"

Seraphina ran to him and held him as he lost his balance.

John: "Sera?"

Sera: "John, what happened?! Are you ok?"

John just passed out. Everyone rushed towards them.

Blyke: "Is he ok?"

Doc: "He seems to be pretty injured, but he's been injured worse at school, so he must have passed out from exhaustion, probably because of teleporting."

Seraphina soon passed out as well. And Doc got to work on recovering Seraphina and John, while the others waited.

Blyke: "The plan was perfect! How did it end like this?!"

Leilah: "Orrin...we underestimated him, he must have suspected that Sera would cause trouble again..."

Arlo: "Again?"

Leilah: "During Seraphina's mission in Rowden, she turned on her team after realizing that they were targeting you on the mountains, so Orrin was mad at her and refused to let her get her ability back. But you can't blame her, Spectre promised her that they'd leave everyone at Welston alone if she worked here, but Orrin broke that promise on behalf of all of us."

Remi: "So because she caused trouble before, he didn't trust her this time?"

Isen: "But wasn't he the one who broke his promise?"

Leilah: "Exactly."

Arlo: "*sigh*"

Kayden: "Another reason we got caught was probably because one of the High-tiers started suspecting me early on."

Leilah: "Oh, what happened?"

Kayden: "Well she was asking all sorts of questions on his the machine works, and then asked me for my access card...that's when everything went downhill."

Leilah: "*sigh* At least we know why the plan backfired...

Remi: "And John and Sera have half their abilities at least..."

Just then Doc entered the room.

Leilah: "How are they?"

Doc: "They should be up in a few hours, nothing too bad..."

A few hours later

Doc let everyone stay at his place. Doc and Leilah had gone out to buy food, and Kayden returned home. Both Seraphina and John soon woke up and exited the room. 

Remi: "Oh hey guys!"

Sera: "Hey *sigh* That was a complete failure"

Blyke: "I mean you guys got half your abilities back right?"

Isen: "Yeah, that's better than nothing."

Sera: "Yeah, I guess but they still have the machine..."

John: "No they don't."

Arlo: "What do you mean?"

John: "Well after Kayden and you got out, I managed to destroy the machine, and then teleported here."

Blyke: "You managed to destroy it?!"

John: "Yeah."

Sera: "John, that was dangerous!"

John: "I know, but I had to do something."

Sera: "*sigh* I guess your right."

Remi: "Well that's great news!"

Blyke: "Yeah! They can't recover their abilities now!"

John: "They probably have other machines somewhere else though."

Isen: "Yeah... "

Arlo: "You're probably right, the entire organization can't rely on just one machine..."

Sera: "But we should be left alone for a while since it'll be really inconvenient for Orrin's High-Tiers."

John: "Yeah, that's true."

Doc and Leilah entered the living room with food.

Leilah: "Ah you two are up!"

Sera: "Hey, Leilah!"

Leilah: "We got food!"

They all ate dinner and decided that they should head back to the dorms, Doc tried to convince John and Seraphina to stay, but then they all agreed that it would be safer to stay at school, so after promising Doc that they both would stay in the dorms and not attend school on Monday, they all went back to the dorms and went to bed, including John who was just too exhausted from the day's events to stay awake.
