Everyone grouped up in front of the bus and waited for Aizawa to show up. The day's classes passed by without anything of note, and now it was their hero class with rescue being the subject of the day.
Shinso tapped Izuku's arm for attention. "This is where the class president makes sure all of his class is here for the teacher." He whispered to his friend.
"Ohhh." Izuku makes his way around everyone in a flash and has many curious looks as he counts every head there. "How many of us are in the class?" He counted 19.
"There's 20 in our class," Shinso said.
"No one is left behind then!" Izuku beamed.
Mina giggled at his attitude. "See! I knew I voted right!"
"Line up in two rows in the order of your student number!" Iida blew a whistle.
"What's he doing?" Izuku asked his group of friends.
"Your job, I think?" Jirou snorted.
"Oh. Thanks for doing my job, Iida!" Izuku didn't know his word was passive-aggressive as Iida blushed slightly and walked back to the group. "Why he'd stop?"
Before his friends could explain, Aizawa walked up to the bus and opened the door. "C'mon, get on."
Once everyone boarded, Izuku sat between Jirou and Mina. Shoji was in the back with Shinso, who was nodding off. Everyone chatted between themselves until Tsuyu asked Izuku something that caught everyone's curiosity.
"Izuku, may I ask why your quirk affects me and Tokoyami like it did, even though your quirk isn't animalistic?" She didn't look directly at his face but at his chest.
"Yea! I've seen some others in the cafeteria with animal quirks sit far away from you." Kirishima noted.
Izuku hummed in thought. "I don't know, what does it feel like?" He looked at both Tokoyami and Tsuyu.
"An Eldrich being is watching me closely to see if I take a wrong step. If I did, then my light would be snuffed out." Tokoyami waxed poetry.
Izuku stared at him, and Tokoyami began to get uncomfortable. "I understood the words but not the meaning." He turned to the frog girl.
She gave out a ribbit of laughter and said. "It was like a predator had their teeth around my neck, and if I moved wrong, I would be dead. You are not the first to make me feel like this, I have a friend with a snake quirk but I have gotten used to her presence, you are different and you don't even have an animal-based quirk."
"I have no idea, I mean, I copy some things from animals." He wiggled his paws on his legs for emphasis. "But I've never done anything with pheromones since I had no use for them." He shrugged.
Shinso snorted and jabbed. "You've been raised by wolves for too long." He said to Izuku.
Izuku furrowed his brow. "They didn't raise me. They tried to eat me. I thought you knew that?"
Mina covered her mouth in a laugh, and Jirou smirked. "He might have a point, too wild for too long, and you get the presence of a predator." Jirou agreed.
"I agree with what Jirou said, but I want to go back a bit." Kaminari raised his hands to pause. "Izuku, do you know the meaning of 'being raised by wolves?' As a saying, I mean."
He paused and thought about it. "It means you have wolf parents?" He guessed.
"He's been in the wild for ten-odd years. Of course, he wouldn't know idioms." Jirou defended his friend.
Kaminari rubbed his hands and smiled in glee. "I have so much to teach you."
Kacchan slapped the back of his head. "Don't teach, Izuku weird shit!"
