"Hey, Roki?" Todoroki didn't turn. "Roki, Roki." Izuku poked him twice in the shoulder to get his attention and he turned to the feral boy.
He looked slightly confused. "That's not my name. Why do you call me that?"
Izuku shrugged. "It's less of a mouthful. Everyone has such long names and I think it's better if they're short like how Mina calls me 'Zu. Plus, I always call my friends with short names." He finished with a beaming smile.
"Oh, okay then. I like it." 'Roki smiled slightly at the shorter boy.
"Good! Anyways, what's with that guy who was glaring at you? The really tall bald guy." Izuku held his hand above his head to show the height.
"He was at the recommendation entrance exams and placed first. He chose to go to another school instead. I believe it was because of me, I was much more...difficult than I am now." Roki said by explanation as he changed in the locker room with the rest of class 1A's boys.
Izuku nodded along as he listened, he shrugged and put on some pants finally. "Maybe we'll fight him!" He said eagerly. "What's the recommendation entrance exams?"
"You're joking." Kacchan gave him a flat look and then shook his head. "Of course, you're not joking, why would you."
Izuku stuck his tongue out at him and listened as Roki explained. "Every hero has one recommendation they can put for a hero school. My father recommended me, our exam was a race with many obstacles in our way to the finish line." He finished putting his suit on and turned to their pack leader.
"Oh, right. Your dad is some hero I forgot."
Roki smirked at that. "Yes, just some hero." He said with too much mirth.
"Would you hurry the fuck up, it's like you like being naked all the time!" Kacchan yelled at his old friend.
Izuku held up a finger and wagged it at him. "Imma tell Aunt Suki you are saying bad words." He said seriously and then he shrugged. "I mean, it doesn't bother me I guess."
"We could tell," Toshi said dryly.
The boys grouped up with the girls and headed to the gathering room for all the examinees. Hundreds of people gathered in the large room, all with their unique quirks and colorful costumes. Izuku purposefully kept his senses dulled to avoid an overload of information. They all waited until a tired-looking man walked onto the podium. Izuku tried to pay attention but his voice was very monotonous and caused his attention to drift around. He snapped back to attention when there was an uproar all around him.
"What happened?" Izuku asked his pack.
"Only a hundred of us will pass out of the 1500!" Kaminari whined.
"Oh, then make sure you pass then!" Izuku said as it was obvious.
His pack all gave him wry grins at his attitude and then nodded to each other with resolve to pass the exam. Officials came around to pass the targets out to everyone. Izuku was again confused but followed suit when his packmates began to put them on their bodies. He shrugged once again and placed one above his heart and one on each side of his torso. Once some time had passed and everyone had targets on their bodies, the room rumbled and split open. A massive arena was shown with more than enough space for everyone to find a good place to fight. That's what everyone did, they split up. Izuku's mouth began to water at the idea of so many things to hunt.
He lept in front of everyone. "Have a good hunt!" And turned to sprint to the wooded area he spotted immediately.
"Wait! You are leaving?" Yayoruzo asked. She saw Mina not looking surprised but looked even more resolved than most to pass the exam.
