Izuku caught the end of the match between Kacchan and Shiozaki. The first thing he sees is Kacchan in the air and then a large explosion shot at Shiozaki, who was in a cocoon of vines. They stood no chance as he burned through all of them and was able to get a hold of Shiozaki by the head. She surrendered quickly after that, and then Kacchan gently extracted his hand from her hair. The crowd cheered at the display and then cheered even more when Kacchan offered his hand to the girl. She took it gratefully, and they walked off the arena.
They called a 20-minute break for Kacchan to rest after his match. Izuku wasn't bothered by waiting and walked out to the arena to the surprise of everyone. He found a nice patch of grass and laid down for a 20-minute nap. He was unsatisfied with his sleeping arrangements and dug up some dirt to pile it up as a pillow. He set the patch of grass over it and then began to drift off in his nap.
Everyone who was watching the UA Sports Festival just witnessed Izuku Kayama, one of the oddest students, lying down in front of everyone and going to sleep without a care in the world. Shinso was shaking his head at the shamelessness of his friend while admiring it just a bit. Mina giggled and internally squealed at the precious sight of Izuku sleeping.
"You sure he isn't related to you? He apparently can sleep anywhere at the drop of a hat." Present Mic laughed softly in the commentator's box.
"Shut up, Hizashi," Aizawa said from the ground as he tried to do the same as the feral child.
Nem couldn't contain her giggle as she watched Izuku roll onto his back and snore loudly. "He's so adorable."
"He's a very contrasting person. One minute, he is an apex predator, and the next, he is taking a cat nap in front of millions. But, I do have to agree that he looks quite adorable." Cementoss said from his perch.
The crowd murmured as Izuku slept for a bit longer. They all had their minds on the very odd boy in the field. When it was getting close to starting up again, Nem went over to his sleeping form and tickled his nose with her whip. Izuku batted it away and snored loudly as he turned over. Nem sighed with a smile to the heavens. She crouched down next to him and tapped his shoulder.
Izuku sniffed. "Nem?"
"Your nap is over, time to get up." She smiled.
"Right," Izuku sat up and yawned, exposing too many teeth. He stretched and bones cracked. With a sigh of relief, he stood up and looked around. He smiled at Nem and followed her to the ring. Izuku sat on his side and leaned left to right in anticipation.
"The finals are to begin! Find your seats and get ready to see the fight of the year!" Present Mic shouted through the speakers. He got a glare from Izuku for being too loud.
A few minutes later, Nem called Kacchan into the ring. He showed up and immediately stared at the patch of ground that was dug up by Izuku. He raises an eyebrow at his old friend and he got a grin in return. Tendrils pushed Izuku off the ground and he hopped from foot to foot with an eager smile.
"You ready?" Kacchan asked with his palms sparking.
Izuku nodded and stilled. He crouched down and prepared for what Kacchan would throw at him. He had some ideas he could use against him but for now, he wanted to see how well he fought in person.
"Start!" Nem shouted and backed away.
The two didn't move right away and stared at each other with similar feral grins, Izuku's was more genuine. Kacchan couldn't wait any longer and blasted forward as Izuku stood his ground. He dodged the series of explosions aimed at him with ease. He was getting burned slightly from close calls but he could heal that with little energy. Kacchan tried to trick him by blasting his front and instead, a smokescreen popped out of his hand. Izuku didn't take the bait and grabbed Kacchan's leg while he tried to move over Izuku to get at his back. Izuku threw Kacchan by the leg back to the center of the arena.
