"Izuku! Come down this instant!" Nemuri shouted up to the roof. "Don't make me come up there!"
The feral beast named Izuku hid on the rooftop from his mother's scolding with his Mate laughing at his misfortune. "No! You're gonna yell at me!" He said while peeking over the edge of the roof to look down on Mina holding her hand to her mouth in obvious amusement, his mom with her hand on her hips looking up at him, and Gang watching on in amusement at the scene before him.
Mina held in a wheezing laugh at her Mate's words. "Izu, you're making worse out to be than it is. Right, Nem?" She looked over at Nem.
She sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Yes, baby. I'm not mad at you, just at your bad luck at being out in public and always getting into trouble. I'm not upset you helped the kid, just that you ended up getting hurt."
Izuku tentatively peeked over more over the roof until he saw his mother's clear distress. He jumped down from the roof of the police station and landed with a quiet thump. He felt a mixture of shame and anxiety in waiting how his mother would react. He felt immediate relief when he was brought into a tight hug by Nem. The shame lingered even afterward because in that small moment when he lept down he saw the stress in her face caused by his actions. He didn't want to cause her stress.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled into her sweater while he hugged her in return.
She pulled him away and caressed his face. Seeing the clear shame in his expression, she asked. "What do you have to be sorry for? You did nothing wrong. You helped a hurt little girl get away from an evil man and find solid evidence for a drug manufacturing ring to be brought down." She said smiling at him.
Looking at her smile, he told her. "I don't wanna stress you and stuff."
Izuku was startled by the laughter that Nem released suddenly. She brought him into a hug even tighter than before. "Oh, sweetie. The only way a mother would stop stressing over their child's safety is if they locked them up in a padded home and I wouldn't ever do that to you. It's inevitable for a child to stress their mother out and that's part of life. You don't ever have to worry about me, all I care about is you coming home safe." She finished by kissing the top of his head between his horns.
The feral boy felt tears crop the corner of his eyes at his mother's words and care for him. He sniffed once before nodding at her words. "Even then, I'll be more careful."
"That's all I can ask for." Nem brushed his hair into a semblance of something but let it poof out again in futility.
"Oooh." Mina couldn't hold herself back and hugged them both at the sweet moment.
Izuku didn't waste any time and hugged her and Nem in a group hug while Nem was surprised for a moment before returning the hug. Gang Orca at the side wiped his eyes from the moisture that built up suddenly and Cane let out a low howl. He padded up to the three and bumped his head into their legs. Nem chuckled once more and reached down without looking to pat the dog.
After collecting themselves, Nem looked to Gang. "Is everything settled on their side?" She nodded to the police station where they came from.
Gang nodded. "Yes, Eri has already been moved to a secure medical facility with Mirko acting as guard for the time being. As for the paperwork, it should be nearly finished but nothing needs their input." He explained.
"Good, I think that was enough excitement for the day," Mina said while stretching her arms. "I wanna go home."
Izuku agreed with his Mate and Nem motioned them to the car waiting for them. "Then, let's get going. Thanks again, Gang Orca for looking out for Izuku." She said to the large man.
