Beast In The Woods

Date

Izuku returned to his den and placed the gold medal on the antlers of a deer skull he liked. He shifted it and nodded in satisfaction. He shifted in his furs and laid down for some sleep. He spent the morning after the Sports Festival looking up places to go eat with Mina on his date. He had trouble finding where to go search on his phone and gave up. He changed and went inside to look for Nem.

He walked down the halls and opened the door to the teacher's lounge. "Nem?"

"What do you need, kiddo?" She smiled at seeing him.

"How do I search for nice places to eat on my phone? And other places too?"

Nem chuckled and took the phone from his hands. She walked him through the process of finding the application for either the Map or a search engine. "Why did you want to know?" She asked after she handed his phone back.

Izuku tapped with his tendrils to search for the date locations. "To take Mina out to eat." He answered.

Nem froze for a moment and then giggled. "Oh? Do you have a date?" She teased and the others in the room shook their heads at the fruitless effort.

"Yep! Thanks, Nem!" Izuku beamed for her help and began to walk out. A whip wrapped around his waist and pulled him back.

"What do you mean you have a date? And with Mina? Did she ask you?" She rattled off.

"I asked Mina on a date yesterday and she said yes," Izuku confirmed.

"Hey, Izuku? Do you know what it means to go out on a date? And what comes from that?" Present Mic asked gently.

"It would mean she would be my girlfriend and the end goal would be to get married and have a family with her. But that's around your age I think. Also just because we are dating doesn't mean we are getting married, I think that's everything." Izuku thought for a moment. "Oh! And only do things you and your partner are comfortable with." He nodded with a smile.

Present Mic nodded and shrugged. "He's got the outline, he's good."

"Do you know what to do on a date?" Snipe asked.

Izuku hummed in thought. "Talk to her and have fun?"

"Oh yea, he's got it in the bag." Snipe agreed with Mic.

"Wait, wait, wait. What about your clothes? Where will you be taking her? When is it? Will you need help getting there?" Nem mothered him to the amusement of everyone in the room.

"I've got clothes. We'll be going to a restaurant, that's why I'm looking it up. An arcade and then I don't know after. When? I'm not sure I'll ask and with this map app I think I can figure it out." Izuku rattled off answers back.

"Leave the boy be, he's got it handled. If he needs help he'll ask like now." Snipe said to Nem.

Nem looked apprehensive but nodded. "Let me help with the clothes at least." She stood and was sat down by Snipe.

"Go on, kiddo. You still need to get ready and don't go out too late." Snipe shooed him off.

"I won't! Thanks, guys!" He beamed and jogged off to his room.

Izuku got to his room and sifted through his closet to look for something appropriate for the date. He took a pair of nicer-looking shorts and a button-up shirt he remembered Nem said was for casual formal. He nodded in satisfaction and cleaned up in the shower with the scentless soap. When he was done, he began to scour the local area for nice restaurants and an arcade.

A few hours later, Izuku waited in front of the train station for Mina to arrive. He had the route memorized and also on his phone to follow along. The restaurant required a reservation, and after looking up what that meant, he did so. A train arrived and the doors opened for many people to get off. Mina was one of them and she looked around to find him.
