The next morning, Izuku and his mentor were headed out on patrol after a couple of spars that ended with Gang Orca laid out multiple times. When they finished, Gang Orca led the way down the streets. Izuku looked around curiously at the different paths they were taking. They passed an alleyway and Izuku stopped and sniffed the air.
"Hey, Gang? I smell blood down that alley." Izuku pointed with his arm stretched out.
Gang Orca looked back and furrowed his brows. He stepped forward in front of Izuku. "Can you tell how old or if it was humans?" He asked.
Izuku sniffed again. "Human. It's pretty fresh I think."
Gang Orca nodded and led down the alleyway quietly. He looked back to make sure his disciple was following and he was but no noise came from his passing. Gang Orca shivered at the effectiveness of the boy and turned back. They heard a scuffle and some lowered voices. They sped up and came upon a man in a business suit curled up on his side while two men robbed him.
The hero rushed forward and took them by surprise. One heard the noise of the heavy footfalls and turned just in time to see the big hero takedown his associate. The second thug didn't give it a second thought and ran away, leaving the first thug. Something grabbed his leg and he tripped. He looked back to see a long bony whip wrapped around his leg and dragging him back to Izuku. The second thug pulled out a knife and jammed it into the whip. It cut into the exposed flesh between the bones and Izuku let go for a moment as the whip split into four and shot at the quivering man. The four tendrils grabbed each appendage and held him spread eagle on the ground.
"Good job, Hunter. Are you hurt?" Gang Orca went over to the second thug and cuff him after he did the same to the first. The victim was sitting up and looked relieved.
"He stabbed me, but I'm alright." Izuku retracted his tendrils from the shivering man. Izuku turned to the civilian and hesitated. "Hello! Civilian, um, we are here to help." He said very unsure where to go on from there.
Gang Orca chucked. "Relax, just talk like you always do. No need to act any different if you don't like it."
"Oh, alright. Also, should we get the guy hiding behind that big trash can?" Izuku pointed at the dumpster on the other end of the alley they came in.
"Shit!" The third thug that was supposed to be the lookout bolted.
"Mine!" Izuku said in the glee of getting an opportunity to go hunting. He didn't think his full Hunter form was necessary so he just switched to his faster legs and clawed hands.
The third thug looked over his shoulder to see the Hunter on all fours sprinting at him. His face had a large smile and his hair was blowing back from the speed. The thug cursed in fear and activated his quirk to get away.
The Hunter witnessed the man turn into a cloud of black smoke and rush up the building to the roof just as he was about to grab him. That didn't stop him as he lept from one wall to the other and scrambled up the edge to find his prey leaping across to the other building to get away. Izuku grinned and sprinted after the prey. He saw the thug jump down another alleyway. He tracked the scent to the thug running into the road and almost get run over. He looked behind himself to see the Hunter sprinting on his trail again. He turned into a cloud of smoke and weaved through the rest of the traffic in a flash. He turned back to see if that was enough but only paled when the beast was jumping over cars without an issue.
The third thug stumbled back and tried to run, only to trip over his feet. He heard a thump and the scrapping of claws on concrete directly behind him. He turned around and didn't see anyone but felt the clawed hands grip his arm and neck. He slumped in defeat. "I give up."
