Sabrinna POV
The rest of the day dragged on slowly as I waited for Prime to come home. I tried to build up the courage to tell him about the pregnancy test, but my nerves were on edge. When the front door finally opened, I felt my heart skip a beat.
Prime walked in, his face drawn and tired. He looked like he’d had a rough day. Without a word, he pulled me into a tight hug. I could feel the tension in his body, and my own anxieties seemed to melt away in the comfort of his embrace.
“Prime,” I started, my voice trembling slightly, “I need to talk to you about something important.”
He pulled back slightly, looking at me with weary eyes. “Not now, Sabrinna. I’m just so tired.”
I nodded, sensing that now wasn’t the right time. Instead of pressing the issue, I just wrapped my arms around him again, holding him close. “Okay, I’m here for you. Kung ano man ang problema mo, nandito lang ako.”
He sighed deeply and rested his chin on top of my head. “Thank you. It’s just been a really long day. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be distant.”
“Wala kang dapat ipag-sorry,” I said softly. “I’m just glad you’re home. Mag-relax ka muna, okay?”
Prime gave a small, appreciative smile and nodded. “Thanks, babe.”
We stayed like that for a while, me holding him, trying to offer comfort. I knew I’d have to tell him about the pregnancy soon, but for now, I was content to just be there for him. As he relaxed in my arms, I hoped that maybe tomorrow would be a better time to share my news.
Days and weeks passed, and my chance to talk to Prime about the pregnancy seemed to slip away. He came home late almost every night, and by then, I was already asleep. When he did come home early, he was always so exhausted that it felt like the last thing he wanted to do was talk.
I tried to stay patient, understanding that he must be dealing with a lot, but the distance between us was starting to take its toll. I noticed how tense he was, and the weariness in his eyes spoke volumes. Yet, he never opened up about what was troubling him.
Isang gabi, habang hinihintay kong dumating siya, nag-isip ako ng mga salita na sasabihin ko. Pero sa tuwing uuwi siya, pagod na pagod siya, at wala nang lakas para makipag-usap. “Prime, I’m worried about you,” I’d say softly. “Kung may problema ka, sana sabihan mo ako.”
He’d only give me a tired smile or a brief hug, murmuring, “Huwag kang mag-alala, okay lang ako.”
I could tell there was something more, but he never shared. He seemed so distant lately, and while I tried to respect his space, the silence between us grew heavier.
One morning, I found myself alone in the kitchen, staring at the empty cup in my hands. “Bakit kaya parang hindi na siya open sa akin?” I asked myself, feeling a pang of sadness.
Despite everything, I made an effort to support him in any way I could. I tried to be patient and understanding, hoping that one day he’d open up and we could face whatever was coming together. In the meantime, the weight of my own news remained unspoken, adding to the quiet struggle we both endured.
With only a month left before our divorce was finalized, the weight of my unspoken news grew heavier each day. I tried to find the right moment to tell Prime about the pregnancy, but he was always either too late coming home or too exhausted to have a serious conversation.
