Sabrinna POV
Prime came home from work, looking as exhausted as ever. His shoulders were slumped, and there was a heaviness in his eyes that hadn’t been there before.
I watched him from across the room, feeling the familiar ache in my chest. But tonight, I was determined to push that aside.
I walked over to him, my heart pounding as I built up the courage. Before I could second-guess myself, I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug. “I’m sorry, Prime,” I whispered, my voice trembling just a bit.
Prime seemed surprised at first, but then he relaxed into my embrace, his own arms coming up to hold me close.
“You don’t have to be sorry,” he said softly, his voice full of relief. “I’m just glad… I’m glad we’re okay.”
I forced a smile, hiding the true reason behind my apology.
He didn’t need to know that I was doing this not because I had fully forgiven him, but because I wanted to make the most of the time we had left. I wanted to create memories—good ones—before everything came to an end.
“Come on,” I said, pulling back slightly and taking his hand. “I made dinner for you. I hope you’re hungry.”
Prime’s eyes lit up with genuine happiness as I led him to the dining table. I had spent the entire afternoon preparing his favorite dishes, wanting this night to be special.
The table was filled with food—more than we could ever finish in one sitting—but I didn’t care. I wanted to see him happy.
“This looks amazing,” Prime said, sitting down and taking it all in. His smile was the brightest I’d seen in days, and for a moment, I let myself feel the warmth of it.
We sat down to eat, and for a while, it was almost perfect. We talked and laughed, and for that brief moment, it felt like everything was as it should be.
But no matter how much I tried to push it away, the sadness lingered in the back of my mind, a constant reminder of the reality we couldn’t escape.
As Prime enjoyed the meal, I watched him, taking in every detail. His happiness brought me some comfort, but the sorrow in my heart was still there, heavy and unyielding.
I knew that this was temporary—that soon, we would have to face the end. But for now, I focused on the moment, on making this memory one we could both hold on to.
The days blurred into weeks, and before I knew it, a routine had settled between Prime and me.
Every night, I waited by the door for him to come home, just like I always had. But now, there was a quiet understanding between us—a shared commitment to make the most of the time we had left. When Prime stepped through the door each evening, his tired expression would melt away the moment he saw me. His eyes would light up, and a smile would stretch across his face as he pulled me into his arms.
“I’m home,” he’d say, his voice warm and full of affection.
“I’m glad you’re here,” I’d reply, wrapping my arms around him and holding on just a little tighter than before.
Our dinners became a sacred ritual. I spent hours in the kitchen, preparing his favorite meals—creamy pasta dishes, roasted meats, and desserts that I knew would make him smile.
I’d set the table meticulously, lighting candles and arranging flowers to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. When Prime sat down at the table, his eyes would always soften with appreciation.
“You spoil me,” he’d say with a chuckle, but I could see the gratitude in his gaze.
After dinner, we’d often take a walk through the city, hand in hand, enjoying the cool evening air.
