7. The Garden Snake Of Slytherin

Having Sebastian and Jasper meet was likely the most awkward interaction I've seen in person.

Ominis was definitely just enjoying the show.

The two boys shared an awkward hand shake but Refused to look at each other. It was a sight to see Sebastian like this. He's normally so friendly with whoever he meets.

" I need to pick up some mallowsweet seeds so-" I started turning to complete my path on the bridge.

" I'll come with you" they both said at the same time. They looked at each other. Almost annoyed.

" uhhh... you guys know it's less than 20 feet away... I think I'll be fine. you two should maybe get to know each other a bit more!" I clasped my hands together with a smile as I backed away from the pair. " I won't be long!" I called.

I darted to the Magic Neep.

This night already felt weird. I had no idea Sebastian was going to finally talk to me today but I'm so glad he did. I thought this was going to last forever. Our friendship over like that because of my mistake. I think Ominis and Sebastian were right. I should have at least told them.

" Good evening Mr, Teasdale. Glad I could catch you before you close for the night." I smiled approaching the kind man.

He beamed. " Welcome! What can I help you with?"

" Juts some Mallowsweet seeds"

He packaged some up for me and handed them over. " I've got a sale on some fertilizer as well!"

I bit my lip. " Hmmm oh why not. I do love your fertilizer. I'll take some!"

He handed me the a medium sized sack. Likely weighing around 20 pounds.

" Thank you!" I called as I left.

Hopefully the boys were being more comfortable with one another.

When I came back to the bridge they sat leaning on either side eyeing each other.

" She's in Slytherin because she's mischievous.We have that in common. " Sebastian said proudly.

" I'd say it's more so her wit and being cunning. But sure." Ominis responded annoyed.

" And you've known her for how long?" Jasper asked.

" A year now." Sebastian said.

" Interesting. So not long." Jasper shrugged.

" Maybe not long but we did nearly die together" sebastian shrugged. " Several times."

" Against by bitter dismay." Ominis sighed shaking his head.

What on earth were they going on about? Is this really what boys talked about when girls weren't around? Merlin, it was weird.

As soon as Sebastian saw me he rushed over and took the fertilizer bag for me. " Why on earth did you buy so much fertilizer?"

I shrugged. " I need fertilizer."

" Yeah but where will you even use this... Herbology doesn't even require—"

" It'll make sense later. Ominis already understands." I interjected.

Ominis chucked.

" Am I missing something?" Jasper asked with a small curious smile.

I giggled.

" No no. Valeria is just living up to her namesake" Ominis shrugged.

I tilted my head. " My namesake?" I wasn't sure what he was going on about.
