I anxiously watched the game between Gryffindor and Slytherin. I was nervous about this plan.
Putting up an act was easy in the short term. But in the long term I knew it would be harder.
Especially as soon as I saw Jasper and Sebastian interacting on the field. Chasing one another.
" What on earth is he doing!" I whispered to Ominis.
" Well I can't see. So you're going to have to explain it to me." Ominis said dryly.
"Sebastian will start chasing him but whenever he stops to make a play, Jasper chases him right back. It's like they're playing a game of tag." I groaned. " it just looks incredibly dangerous!"
" I mean the game itself is dangerous. I don't know why sallow is antagonizing him. Did he start it?" Ominis asked.
" he better not have." I huffed.
In a few quick moments Jasper had managed to catch up to Sebastian and the two of them wrestled mid air for a moment before he gave Sebastian a good enough shoved off his broom.
They weren't high enough to have fallen horribly. But Sebastian laid on the ground and looked to be in pain.
The announcer alerted that the game was paused while the nurse made her way onto the field.
I shot up immediately. " He's hurt! Come on—"
" Valeria stop." Ominis said quickly. " I'll go check on him. You can't. Jasper won't believe your fight was real."
I stopped and sat back down. I was worried. My heart was so loud I could hear it amid the crowds.
" Please just.. go check on him. Tell him I have to meet Jasper after the game." I murmured before reaching in my pocket and pulling out the strawberry taffy he'd given me as proof of life when the term started. " Here give this to him too." I said placing it in Ominis' hand.
He smiled as he slipped it into his pocket and quickly left the Stands. I watched as they escorted Sebastian off the field. But I immediately spotted Jasper eying for me. When he spotted me he smirked. And it took everything in me to not glare at him. I simply crossed my arms and looked to the score board.
But I fought every part of me to eye Sebastian till he was off the field. And I struggled the rest of the game to not leave my seat and go to him.
When the game ended I immediately left the stands and made my way to the astronomy tower as the sun began to set. I did my best to not think of Sebastian. I had to remain focused on getting information out of Jasper and I was more than determined to get it from him.
More importantly his arrival back was odd. It was quiet. We hadn't heard anything from him or about him since he was gone for a week.
It was almost as if he faded into the shadows. And it only made me more nervous.
I stood on the balcony of the tower. The cool winter air was making me regret meeting at this place.
" Right on time as promised." A deep voice said. And I was suddenly met with green eyes and golden curls.
I did my best to not frown as much.
" Least you keep your word...I suppose." I said dryly.
Jasper sat upon his broom still wearing his quidditch uniform. He leaned forward resting his head in his hand with a smirk as he floated idly beside the balcony. Ruining my view of the grounds.
" I may say some not nice things but I do keep my word." He shrugged.
" You said those for a reason. I know you did. I just haven't figured it out yet." I murmured.
