I still felt awful for confining in ominis. But it did help.
He carried it well. Before Sebastian's game he interacted with him as if nothing.
It gave me the strength to do the same. I wrote to Thalia that night with my questions. And I asked for continued updates on Anne's condition. If Sebastian couldn't see her I wanted the chance to on my own through this. The hard part would be evading Sebastian's eyes considering we were nearly always together. And if we weren't we knew where the other was.
We filed into the quidditch field as students cheered and eagerly awaited the start of the game.
I spotted the familiar auburn hair of Sebastian through a curtain and turned to Ominis.
" Why don't I get us some hot chocolate. It's quite cold." I smiled.
Ominis lit up and nodded. " Sounds good. I'll get us the best seats."
He smiled eagerly and followed his wand up the steps.
I turned and approached the curtain slowly. Sebastian was fixing up the last of his gear around his wrist.
" So do I have a good chance if I place bets on Slytherin?" I asked.
He turned around and smiled.
I let the curtain fall behind me as I walked further into the space.
" I think we have a fair chance. And I'm not just saying that because I'm captain. Gryffindor won't know what hit them." He said with a smile.
I laughed softly and untied the ribbon from my hair.
I approached him, taking his arm that he had yet to strap a wrist guard onto.
" Figured I'd give you a hint of good luck any way. " I said as I tied the ribbon around his wrist as I would with mine to keep it handy.
" I refuse to loose a bet."
He laughed and observed the neatly tied ribbon around his wrist before wrapping his wrist guard on securely.
" You watching is the only luck I need, darling." He said with a smile.
I rolled my eyes as I headed back out the curtain. " And you'd better be safe!" I called before heading to retrieve hot chocolate for me and Ominis.
Ominis truly managed to find the best seats possible for us. Sure enough, Andrew Larson was selected to be the announcer. I spotted him eagerly making sure he was ready to make calls besides the Headmaster and other professors.
Poppy and Natty sat with their own houses to cheer on.
And as the game started the entire crowd erupted in loud cheers that made my ears ring. But the way the cheers made my heart beat to their rhythm was exhilarating.
I could see why students wanted quidditch back. This was so much fun.
One by one the players of each team took their place onto the field.
" Slytherin Coach Sebastian Sallow!" Andrew called as he flew up into the air into position.
I watched him eagerly as he eyed members of the Gryffindor team one by one.
They didn't stand a chance.
As the game started I had a hard time keeping up with what was happening.
Players flew around much faster and with better accuracy than we did when we scrimmaged. Sebastian seemed to know exactly what he was doing. I could see him making calls and ordering his team according to different plays.
