—Sebastian POV—
" Why are you trying so hard to protect him?" I suddenly stopped walking and asked turning to her. " Is'nt it obvious he fancies you?! And if you keep entertaining him this way, what on earth does that make me to you?" I asked through my anger.
Her eyebrows furrowed. My expression relaxed when I'd realized what I had just said. I inhaled. " Im sorry. Ignore I said that. We don't have to. Nor do I want to talk about it. But they said it came from him for a reason. I'm going to ask. And then figure out what to do next from there about this."
" Sebastian, he just didn't seem the type to do that." She said softly. " and you're so angry I just don't want you to do something that could get you in trouble or expelled." She reasoned quickly. her eyes still showing signs of her crying earlier. It just made me even more angry.
But I tried to keep calm. " I won't"
She sighed and thought for a moment before walking ahead of me. " And for the record, I don't fancy him. Regardless of how he feels." She said. Her tone was final. Insinuating she wanted me to understand that sooner rather than later.
I stayed silent as we rounded up the stairs to the Astronomy tower.
Then I saw him, standing in the study.
" Nightingale-- I heard you've been the center of some vile rumors." I challenged as I approached him.
" Sebastian--" Valeria started. " Jasper... I need to talk to you." she said quickly.
" I don't really want to talk to you after what happened at the ball." he said bitterly. " I have no interest in associating with such a woman." he said.
Valeria took a step back. " wait... so you are the one spreading the rumors?" She said in complete disbelief. " Why on earth would you be saying such things, especially when we did none of what you say!" She said in anger.
He scoffed. " Can you believe her? A cheater and now you're trying to lie about what happened? You really do fit in Slytherin don't you?" He started to laugh amongst the other students he was with.
At that point I'd lost it. I swung a punch directly against the left side of his face. This time he was ready and moved to dodge, lessening the blow. Only to spin back and try to take a punch at me.
Valeria shouted for us to stop. But I couldn't even obey her. He was truly disgusting.
" You piece of shit!" I cursed after taking a hit from him against my jaw. I tackled him to the ground and continued to deal punches and blows. As he did the same to me, but I couldn't even think of the pain at the moment.
" Depulso!" Valeria suddenly casted, I flew off of him and staggered back up.
He staggered back up. " Yeah Valeria control your little dog." Jasper chuckled as he wiped blood from his face.
He suddenly turned back to her and approached her. She stared up at him with probably the scariest expression I've seen her show another student.
" Just because you regret it doesn't mean it didn't--" he started before she threw a punch herself.
Really throwing him off guard. He spun back around to her in shock.
" Speak ill of me again." she said calmly. " I dare you to do so. We barely have spent any time together this term since you got here, and yet you think you have the audacity to speak vile lies about me?" She scoffed. " You have no idea about what I'm capable of just by being here for a year. " As she spoke I started to notice the familiar glow the night we defeated the poachers. Her eyes shifted to a dark brown color. Only to slowly begin to have a faint red glow.
