Ninjago Fanfic: The Lightning Serpentine

Chapter 3

(The changes are going to start!!)
Still in the past, the ninja were at the monastery. "He's right. The only way to save our future is for Kai to find his fire." said Zane, after looking at Past Kai's horrible training. "But what are you trying to say, Zane?" asked Jay. "I'm saying we have to give Kai his motivation back. We have to kidnap Nya and deliver her into the hands of the skeletons." said the ice ninja.

Kai sighed, "If that's what it takes, okay. But if it's alright with you guys, I got an idea on how I can talk some sense into myself." After Kai told them the plan, they decided to meet in the same place and start with it. The ninja went separate ways. Jay walked down the stairs of the old monastery, he couldn't believe that he still had the chance to see it in one piece.

He looked up. He shouldn't be here, he didn't want to. Tonight, he'd have to kidnap Nya, he wasn't sure he was ready for that. As he walked, his heart drifted to another memory, the day when he reached his true potential. He looked around. It couldn't be, he was at Mega Monster Amusement Park.

He looked at the roller coaster, there he was, looking at one of his worst fears, becoming a snake again. Past Jay was on the crazy roller coaster with past Nya, they were almost at the literal ring of fire. Jay knew what will happen, Nya would kiss him, and he'll save the day, the end. But unlike in front of Kai's blacksmith shop, there is no clear reason why time would bring him back here, especially when he didn't try to come back.

"Whatever happens," said Past Nya, "you are the best you." Past Jay raised his arms, closed his eyes, then concentrated, the nunchucks behind him started to glow. "What's happening?" asked a shocked Past Nya. "My true potential!" exclaimed Past Jay. Past Jay levitated from the roller coaster, sparked like electricity, then teleported in front of the roller coaster. He used all his strength to stop it right before it went into the ring of fire.

"Wait." said present Jay. He didn't see Nya kiss him, which must mean... "Guess it'ssss better to be mysssself then watch you die." said Past Jay, who flipped his hood. His face was definitely showing the ninja that got scratched by a serpentine's bone. "No, no, no." he said, as he pulled off his gloves and checked his hands. It was starting to turn green, like when he was practicing what to say to Nya in the current day.

Why did it start just now? If the past was changed, he should be a full-serpentine for at least a year! "Time isssn't right..." he said.
