The next morning, as you made your way to the Great Hall for breakfast, the cheerful brunette caught up to you and took your hand. You almost pulled away before you figured out it was Hermione and remembered her plan from yesterday.
"Good morning, love," Hermione said as you both walked into the Great Hall, already getting stares from multiple people.
"Good morning, darling," You responded before you took your seat across from Harry and Ron, who both had their eyebrows raised and jaws open.
"Oh don't be so shocked. This is just for pretend." Hermione said as she put her hand on your thigh. You tensed up from the contact but relaxed after you realized who it was.
"For pretend?" Harry asked, both the boys still confused.
"Yea, Hermione wants to make McLaggen jealous." You explained, noticing Hermione smile shyly when you mentioned Cormac's name. You rolled your eyes and poured cereal onto your bowl.
"Ohhh. Y/n's actually been complaining about you and your annoying staring at him. Makes a lot of sense." Harry responded.
"You've been complaining about me staring at Cormac? Don't worry, I'm all yours." Hermione joked and kissed your cheek before getting up. "I'm going to go the library. See you later." The brunette winked before walking out. You stared at her until she turned out of your sight.
"Are you okay with this? She's sort of using you to get to Cormac." Ron inquired once you turned back to the boys. No, of course you weren't okay with it but you also didn't want to break her heart.
"Yeah, I mean it's kind of fun." You smiled but you knew this wouldn't be healthy for you.

Your hand never left Hermione's in History of Magic. She held onto it pretty tightly under the desk even though all she did was look at Cormac.
It was also pretty evident he liked her back. They were staring pretty intensely at each other which made you physically want to gag.
"You need to talk to him." You whispered. "It's so obvious that he likes you. I don't even know what this," You brought your hand, which was intertwined with hers, up to indicate what you were talking about, "is for."
"It's to make him jealous, Y/n. Trust me. Plus I will talk to him, don't worry." She shifted her attention back to the teacher and took notes. You shook your head and resumed listening to Binns drone on about the goblin war or something along those lines.

The day went by fine other than the fact you had a girlfriend now, well pretend. It was a little bit odd because Hermione was very enthusiastic and let everybody know you two were "dating".
She held onto your hand every time you two were together, kissed you multiple times on the cheek, and engaged in couple-like activities even when no one was around.
For example, earlier when you two were at the back of the library studying, she was sitting on the same chair as you in between your legs. She laid her back onto your chest and rested her head on your neck as you did your History of Magic work, all while nobody was in sight to see.
You wanted to ask why she was still doing this when there was no one around to show, but you didn't want to ruin the moment because you obviously cherished it.
You sat on your bed reading a book, when you heard a knock on your door. It was your "girlfriend" asking to come in. You opened the door for her and were greeted by a huge hug to your surprise.
"So I think we need to work on something." Hermione took a seat on your bed as you stood, leaning on a wooden drawer. "We need to start kissing in public."
"Oh uh, okay. Yea, I guess that's what couples do." You were a bit surprised but you knew this was supposed to happen anyways. "So do you just wanna-"
Hermione crashed her lips onto yours without hesitation. Her hand caressed your cheek as you succumbed to her touch and kissed back, putting your hand on her waist. Just when you thought she would stop, she pushed even closer to you and kissed even harder.
You let out a little moan, unable to stop yourself. This felt amazing, it's all you wanted for the past year and here it was except it wasn't exactly in the scenario you wanted. Her lips were on yours as she slowly pushed closer to you, every inch of the front of your bodies touching.
You finally pulled away after what seemed like centuries of a heated makeout session. You didn't even notice your tie had been a little undone and your white shirt was a little unbuttoned.
"Wow. You're a really good kisser, Y/n." Hermione said, a little out of breath. Her hair was a little bit messy.
"Thanks, I guess? You caught me by surprise there." You smiled a bit, still trying to comprehend what had just happened.
"Okay, well let me give you a bit of a warning this time." She looked at your lips and met them again, but this time much more passionately, slower, and shorter.
When she pulled away, she just looked at your lips for a moment, her hands on your body until you swore you saw her blush which made her look away.
"I'm going to bed, goodnight Y/n." Hermione made her way to the door and closed it before you even had a chance to say anything.
