You put on a pair of navy sweats and a Gryffindor hoodie. It was Sunday morning and you were secretly glad that there weren't any classes. If you saw Hermione and Cormac together in the hallways and during classes, you'd probably want to rip your head off and cry at the same time.

It was around 10 am and you prayed the two lovebirds weren't in the common rooms. To your content, they weren't. So you guessed they'd probably in the Great Hall having breakfast so you decided to skip the first meal of the day.

The weather was nice and breezy with clouds covering the sky. Students sat around the courtyard talking and laughing as other couples walked hand in hand together. You still had a lump in your throat when thinking about Hermione which was every second of the day. Your eyes also were tired as you cried the whole night.

You reached the Black Lake, a favorite place of yours that you went to very often during your early school years. You forgot how calming the lake was. The chatter of students were long gone as the only audible noise was the sound of the lake and birds. You took a seat at the mossy ground, small bits of grass still there, fighting against the winter.

"Y/n!" A familiar voice rang out getting louder as the person got closer. You turned around to see Ginny, relieved that it was her. You smiled at her.

"Hi, Ginny." You said, but quietly because your voice was worn out from the crying and you were worn out overall.

Ginny didn't say anything and sat next to you, looking out into the lake. You appreciated her and how she's been there for you. You felt like she understood too, how you wanted someone with you but didn't want to speak at all.

"It's hard, Y/n, I know. I promise you it'll be better even if it doesn't seem like it now. The same thing happened with me and Harry." Ginny tried to reassure you. You perked up when she mentioned her and Harry and you were glad she did. It was something else to talk about.

"Really? Actually, I haven't even really heard much about you and Harry and how you guys got together. I never would've expected it." You chuckled.

"Well, I've always liked him but it was sort of an admiration and I never acted on it because I thought he'd never like me back. But over the summer, we got closer than ever before and my feelings grew and he also realized he was falling for me too." Ginny smiled as she looked down and fondled with her hair. "It just took him forever to act on it."

"This is how I felt when Harry was with Cho. It was horrible for me but I guess it's a little different because we never actually dated before that happened."

There was a silence after Ginny said that but it wasn't an awkward silence. It was comforting. You both stayed silent, admiring the lake, until Ginny finally stood up. You watched her walk closer to the shore. She bent down and picked up a stone from the many stones that were piled up along the shore.

You watched as she threw it, attempting to skip the stone but failing to. You chuckled to yourself as she threw her hands up in exasperation and bent down to get another. You got up and walked over to her.

"To perfect stone skipping, you have to find a flat-shaped stone." You said as you approached the redhead.

"Really? Are you a professional or something?" Ginny taunted as she raised an eyebrow. You smirked and bent down to find the best-shaped stone you could find.

"Look." You flung the stone and it skipped five times until sinking. You smirked at your success. You always loved to skip stones when you were younger. You realized how much you missed being at the lake and skipping stones. It was such a simple activity yet you missed it so much.

"Woah! How'd you do that?" exclaimed Ginny. She was taken aback at how well you could skip stones. You smiled and bent down to get another stone and handed it to Ginny.

"You try." Ginny flung the stone but it didn't skip at all. She crossed her hands, mad. You laughed at the failed attempt.

"Hey! Stop laughing," pouted Ginny as she hit your arm. You laughed and gave her another appropriately shaped stone. "Here." You took her arm and hand and guided her through the motion of throwing the stone. Ginny released the stone and the stone skipped four times.

"Woah! That was awesome," smiled Ginny. Ginny took another stone and this time flung it by herself. It skipped four times again. She jumped up in joy and hugged you. "I've always wanted to do that!" You and she both laughed at the same time but were interrupted by another set of laughter.

The dreaded duo, Hermione and Cormac. Hermione was in the sweatshirt that you gave her before in your fifth year. She had her hair half up half down with a bow. She looked absolutely beautiful. She was blushing like insane, clutching onto Cormac like if she let go she'd die. You glared at the two, Hermione hadn't noticed you and Ginny but Cormac did.

You glared at him and he looked back and winked. He smirked, ignoring whatever Hermione was telling him. Ginny tugged at your arm but you couldn't move. As much as you wanted to stop looking, your feet were stuck to the ground.

"Y/n." Ginny tugged harder.

"Y/n!" Everyone's attention turned to the voice that called out your name. It was Harry. "Oh uhm..." Harry looked around and scratched the back of his head.

"Let's go." Cormac grabbed Hermione's arm rather harshly. Hermione now acknowledged everyone.

"Hi, Ginny! Y/n! It's been a while! Hi-" Hermione was in the middle of greeting everyone, oddly enthusiastically. Cormac grabbed her even harder and tugged her, making her almost trip.

"Hey!" You instinctively ran over to the two. "Let her go, McLaggen." You sternly said. Cormac smirked and glared down at you.

"Y/n, calm down." Harry placed a hand on your shoulder. "Let them be."

"It's okay, Y/n! Don't worry, it doesn't hurt!" Hermione kept her extremely wide smile. You were beyond confused.

"What the hell," You muttered out as you watched the two leave.

"That's what I wanted to talk about, Y/n. I have something to tell you."
