"And how do you think Slughorn's going to help us? How did you even find out about this love potion thing in the first place? I know he taught us, but I swear it was like the shortest, most forgetful lesson ever." You followed Harry as he speed walked to, you guessed, Slughorn's office.

Harry whipped around suddenly, stopping you in your tracks. "Y/n, please listen to me. I know more than you think. I think it's a love potion, and if it isn't, it's worth a shot." Harry said quickly before turning around and walking even faster.

You stopped following him and were shocked at his very sure claim. He was right, you thought, it was worth a shot.

After what seemed like a long but, at the same time, fast walk to Slughorn's office, because of the pace Harry seemed to be walking, you both finally reached the office. You weren't completely confident that the Professor would open the door, but to your surprise, it opened after Harry knocked only twice.

"Ahh! My boy, Harry!" Slughorn smiled and pulled Harry in for a hug. You were not at all aware of their familiar acquaintance. "Ms. Y/ln! I was not expecting you as well. Well, come on in." The cheery Professor beckoned you both into his large office.

The Potion Professor's office was quite vast. There was a fireplace with two large sofas surrounding it and a dinner table that could fit probably ten people. Not to mention his needed comfy work chair and table that had all the seeming necessities for a professor.

You looked around in awe, almost forgetting why you were here until he asked.

"What brings both of you here?" Slughorn turned around and flashed his geeky smile.

"Oh well, um, it's not confirmed, but we're both convinced of it." Harry started. "You see, we think Hermione Granger's been spiked with a love potion."

Slughorn's face turned into a confused but also amused one. "A love potion?" He chuckled to himself. "Well, I do know that it's use has been very popular around, now that I've taught it. But are you sure? It is a pretty serious accusation if you aren't correct, Mr. Potter."

"There isn't any other explanation," You began. "Everything was fine one day, but the next, it seemed like she was completely infatuated, and she would never be, not given what happened before." You trailed off towards the end, not wanting to bring up the past. You looked down at your feet.

"Well! I do have the solution!" Slughorn happily clasped his hands together, not seeming to pick up on your sad expression. "And I do trust Potter with it. If you had come with anyone else, Y/l/n, I wouldn't have moved forward with this."

You smiled a bit, a little grateful for Harry and his sudden interest and skill in Potions.

"Come along, then! The solution isn't going fly to you both!" Slughorn beckoned the both of you over to his shelf of different vials of potions. You and Harry quickly walked to the rotating shelf.

Slughorn gingerly picked a vial from the shelf and handed it to you. He looked very proud of himself. "Here it is! Made it back a while ago, but these remedies take one hell of a time to become unusable. It should work!" Slughorn flashed a smug smile.

You reach to take the potion, but Slughorn retracts his hand.

"Wait, Y/l/n. You have to understand that this potion does work well, but the person taking it is going to have a reaction to it. It could be small, it could be big. They turn out to be fine, most of them anyways." Slughorn raises an eyebrow. "Are you willing to take that risk?"

You turn to Harry, but he gives u an "it's your choice" expression. You turn back and nod. "I'll take it."

"Alright." Slughorn hands you the vial.
