28 || Potions

You followed Harry to the common rooms. He was walking exceptionally fast.

"Harry, calm down. Harry," You panted. He was practically running at this point. "Harry!" You yelled. The raven-haired boy stopped. He turned around, his Potions books clutched in his hand.

"Why are we going so fast?"

"It's about Hermione." You rolled your eyes, turned around, and began to walk the other way.

"Y/n, wait. It's about why she's been acting so weird." Harry said before he turned and began to walk back to the common rooms again.

"Well, why don't you just tell me?" You stood your ground, not following him.

Harry looked around and shuffled quickly towards you. "Love potion." He said so quietly, you almost couldn't hear him. Your eyes widened and followed Harry as he began making his way to the common rooms again.

You both reached the fireplace, but no one was there as everyone was outside, enjoying the weather.

"Can you explain yourself, Harry? What do you mean it was a love potion?" You sat down next to Harry. Deep inside, you were really wishing it was a love potion and that Harry was right.

"Okay, so I've been reading about love potions in this book." Harry put his Potions book up and pointed at it. You never realized how worn out it was and torn.

"Okay... and what did u find?" You were hesitant.

"It fits the description of 'Mione completely. I mean she's quite literally completely infatuated with McLaggen. And it doesn't make sense at all. She randomly just shifted to Cormac which is inexplainable given he literally beat people up for fun." Harry flipped through the pages of his Potions book.

"I don't know, Harry this is a pretty strong accusation. Does Cormac even know how to make something like that?" You bit your nails, anxious.

"I can't think of anything else, Y/n. Do you remember if she drank or ate anything before the day she completely switched?"

"I don't think I do... wait. There was this chocolate she found on the bedside. I didn't have any but she ate it. She said it was really good." Your eyes widened.

"It had to be that then. Some of the potion was probably infused in it."

"Okay, so how do we fix this? Does it just wear off?" You were desperate for a solution. You needed your girl back.

"There's an antidote in this book. I can help you brew it." Harry focused on his book.

"An antidote? What is in that book, Harry?" You scooted closer to get a look but Harry jumped up and slammed the book close. He put it behind his back.

"It's nothing." He was visibly sweaty.

"Merlin, Potter. What are you hiding in that book?" You stood up. "Whatever, just tell me how we can make the solution."

"We can go to Slughorn. He'll help us."

"Slughorn? Why would he help us?" You raised an eyebrow, unaware of Harry's relationship with the teacher.

"Don't worry about it. He will help us. Trust me." Harry stands up and waits for you to go with him. 

"The things I do for this woman." You whisper before you stand up and follow him.
