~10/5/16: 2 Weeks After Marinette Left~

Marinette left 2 weeks ago. It may not seem like a long time, but being away from the person you love for even a second feels like an eternity without air.

I still can't pinpoint why she left. Or why she didn't tell me. How can someone be so close to another and not tell them they're leaving? What could I have possibly done to be that terrible?

"Adrien you need to go back out there. You've been sulking since Marinette left." My dad walks into my room and take my train of thought right off its rails.

I sit up and turn to my dad. "I mean why come visit if you're just going to stay in your room the whole time?" "I just don't get why she didn't tell me she was leaving."

"Girls come and go son. No reason to be all pouty that this one is gone." I roll my eyes. "She's not just 'this one'. She's the one." "You're too young to know that."

"You and mom knew." "That was different." "How?" "I don't want to talk about it Adrien." "You never do dad. You never want to talk about mom." "Enough!" "It's like you don't even want to remember her." "Don't want to remember her? Are you serious? Everything I do is for her."

"Oh yeah? And what is it that you do?" "I take care of you-" "Because I'm your son." "That's beside the point." "What even is your point?"

"All I'm saying is that Marinette might not be the girl for you." My heartbeat begins to pick up. "What's gotten into you? I thought you liked her?"

"I do. She is a nice young lady. But come on Adrien. She's the baker's daughter." "Oh my god. Are you even hearing yourself right now father?"

I stand up and walk over right him. "So what if she's the baker's daughter? What does that have to do with anything?" "At some point in your life you're going to have to grow up. Someone like you does not belong with-" "Don't even dare finish that sentence."

He shuts his mouth. For once he shuts his mouth. "Mom is rolling in her grave hearing you talk about her like that."

As soon as it's out of my mouth I regret it. It's wrong. I know it is. But however wrong it may be, it's also true. My mother adored Marinette. She wouldn't be able to stand here and listen to him belittle her.

I can see in his eyes that I've upset him. His eyes have darkened. His jaw is clenched.

"You're such a disappointment." My heart sinks. "Yeah and you're not such a great father anyway." When I'm upset, my words shoot to kill. And that's exactly what Im trying to do with him. He hurts me, I hurt him harder.

"It's no wonder Marinette left the way she did! She couldn't deal with you!" That's what did it for me. That's what pushed me over the edge.

"Don't even go there! Don't fucking go there!" "It's true though. Marinette left. And you're the reason why." "And you're the reason why moms dead!" As soon as it's out of my mouth i immediately regret it.

"Get out!" He yells. "Dad I-" "Get the hell out of my house!" He slams his hand against the wall. "I mean it Adrien! Get your stuff and get out."

"You know what? Fine. I don't need you. I never did." I grab a duffel bag and start stuffing whatever I can in it.

"Fuck you. Fuck this house." I knock over a vase on my way down the stairs. "Don't go breaking shit in my house." "I'll do whatever the fuck i want in this house!" I say as I knock over another vase.

"Adrien-" Nathalie stands in front of the door. "Nathalie not right now. Please. Just let me go." She looks up at my dad at the top of the staircase. "Gabriel you're going to regret this."

My dad shrugs. "There's nothing to regret." She looks down at me. "Let him go." He says before walking back up the staircase.

"Adrien please don't do this." "I have to. I can't deal with him anymore." "Please come visit us still." I shake my head. "I think this is my last visit." She pulls me into a hug. "Take care of yourself okay?" I nod and she hugs me tighter.

Once she pulls back, I walk out the door.

And that was it. That was the last time I've seen my father. Until now.
