~Sunday, January 9th~
~Adrien~
The 3 of them walk back into the room and take a seat. "Everything okay?" My father shifts his gaze to Marinette and she nods. "Yeah. We're good."I lean towards Marinette. "You sure it's good? They said a lot of rude things." She shrugs. "I'm fine."
Mari went majority of the dinner barely saying a word. Clearly the apology didn't go as well as I hoped it would. I need to learn that with my father, he'll never do what I ask.
I made sure to tap her leg under the table to get her attention. Every time I did she'd smile up at me as her way to let me know she was fine.
But she wasn't. I can tell. Her smile wasn't genuine.
We've left already and this whole ride she's barely said a word. And when she does, she mentions everything, but their conversation. I know for a fact my father didn't apologize to her the way I asked him to. He gave her a half assed apology.
"Are you sure you're okay?" I ask once we get to a red light. She nods. "Yeah I'm fine." "You've been a little quiet." She gives a soft, almost fake smile. "Sorry I just have a lot on my mind right now."
"And what's that?" "You're gonna get upset." She plays with her hair. "Me upset at you? Never." I laugh when she raises her brow at me.
"This time I won't." "Chloe and Kagami." "What about them?" "How happy were you with them?" "Honestly?" I see her nod from the corner of my eye. "With Chloe, it was good at first, but then-"
"But then?" "I don't know. She just got super jealous whenever I was with you or talked about you." I see her nod from my peripheral vision. "And Kagami?" "Is this cause of what my dad said? Did he make you insecure?"
"I guess?" She shrugs. "I've always thought about it, but when he mentioned it I- I don't know it's dumb." "It's not dumb. It's something anyone would be curious about."
"Yeah I guess. So how happy were you with them?" I grab her hand. "Not as happy as I am with you." She smiles.
And you?" "What about me?" "How happy were you with Luka and Felix?" She leans over in the seat and gives me a quick kiss.
"Not as happy as I am with you."
"So what exactly did my father tell you when you guys were outside?" "Nothing important." Her fingers play with my ring. "Are you sure about that?" "Yeah. I promise it was nothing bad."
~Marinette~
"So how did the dinner go?" Alya asks as soon as I open my door. "Do you think I would've called you over if it went well?" She laughs and shakes her head as she walks in.
"So what exactly happened?" "His dad basically told me I'm not good enough for Adrien because I already hurt him once. And he prefers Kagami and Chloe over me." "He said that? What a bitch."
"It's whatever. Adrien made them apologize to me." "Still that's not okay." I look up and find her staring at me with her brow raised. "And what else is bugging you."
"How fast Adrien moved on again after I left." "Marinette-" "I mean I know he owed absolutely nothing to me, but- I don't know. I don't know why it's bugging me so much." "It's because you loved him M. And I know a huge part of you always will."
I agree. I was so hopelessly and desperately in love with him. And that part of me is holding onto that. But the big question is... "Will you still love him once you get all the information you're looking for?"
Maybe that's why I've been feeling this strongly for him for so long. Because I never got the closure I needed from him?
"And the only way to get that information is to talk about the topic I've been trying so hard to avoid." "It may be time girl."
