The End War had begun prematurely, triggered by the breaking of the Seventh Seal. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were not summoned, and the forces of Heaven and Hell clashed on Earth, leaving behind a trail of destruction and death. The humans, caught in the crossfire, were nearly wiped out, and the planet became a barren wasteland.
Among the survivors was a small group of resistance fighters, led by a Maker named Ulthane. They had managed to salvage some weapons and vehicles from the ruins, and they fought against the demons that roamed the land. They also had a secret ally: War, one of the Horsemen, who had been stripped of his powers and blamed for starting the apocalypse. War had vowed to find the true culprit and clear his name, and he had allied himself with Ulthane and his people.
One day, as they were scouting for supplies near an abandoned military base, they witnessed a strange phenomenon: a massive portal opened in the sky, and several metallic objects fell from it. They looked like giant robots, some with wings, some with wheels, some with weapons. They crashed into the ground, creating huge craters and dust clouds.
Ulthane and War decided to investigate, hoping to find some useful scrap or technology. They approached one of the crash sites, where they saw a red-and-blue robot lying on its back. It had a face that resembled a human's, but with glowing blue eyes and a mouthplate. It also had an emblem on its chest that looked like a stylized flame.
