Ivy Valentine was wandering around a town that had been ravaged by a forest fire. She had heard rumors that Soul Edge was hidden somewhere in the area, and she was determined to find it and destroy it. She had no interest in the fate of the people who lived there, as she considered them irrelevant to her quest.

As she walked through the charred ruins, she saw nothing but ashes and corpses. The smell of smoke and death filled the air, making her feel nauseous. She wondered how anyone could survive such a disaster. She felt a slight pang of pity, but quickly dismissed it. She had seen worse things in her life, and she had learned to harden her heart.

She was about to leave the town, when she heard a faint sound. It was a cry of pain and fear, coming from a nearby building. Ivy felt curious, and decided to investigate. She followed the sound, and entered the building. It was a small house, partially burned and collapsed. She saw a pile of rubble, and noticed something moving under it.

She approached the rubble, and lifted a wooden plank. Underneath, she saw a baby boy, covered in dust and blood. He had somehow survived the fire, but he was badly injured and starving. He looked at Ivy with his big eyes, and cried louder.

Ivy felt a surge of emotion that she could not explain. She felt sorry for the child, who had lost everything and had no one to help him. She felt angry at Soul Edge, which had caused so much suffering and destruction. She felt something else, too, something that she had never felt before: maternal instinct.

She reached out her hand, and gently picked up the baby boy. She held him close to her chest, and tried to calm him down. She spoke softly to him, using words that she had never used before.

"Shh... it's okay... I'm here... you're safe now..." she said.

The baby boy stopped crying, and looked at Ivy with curiosity. He seemed to sense that she was not a threat, but a friend. He smiled weakly, and reached for her face.

Ivy felt a warmth in her heart that she had never felt before. She smiled back at him, and kissed his forehead.

"You're a brave little one, aren't you?" she said.

She decided to take him with her, and find him a new home. She thought that maybe he could give her a new purpose in life, too.

She left the building, carrying the baby boy in her arms. She walked through the town, looking for a way out. As she did so, she heard another sound. It was a voice of despair and hopelessness, coming from another nearby building.

She followed the voice, and entered the building. It was another house, also burned and damaged. She saw a woman lying on the floor, surrounded by flames. She was barely alive, but still conscious. She looked at Ivy with her dull eyes, and spoke weakly.

"Please... help me... my baby... where is my baby?" she said.

Ivy realized that this woman was the mother of the baby boy. She felt conflicted, and did not know what to do. She wanted to keep the child for herself, but she also knew that it was not right to separate him from his mother.

She looked at the woman, and then at the baby boy. She saw that they had the same eyes: blue and bright.

She made up her mind, and walked towards the woman. She knelt down beside her, and showed her the baby boy.

"Is this your baby?" she asked.

The woman's eyes widened with joy and relief. She nodded weakly, and reached for her son.

"Yes... yes... he is my baby... thank you... thank you so much..." she said.

Ivy handed over the baby boy to his mother, and watched as they embraced each other. They cried tears of happiness, and thanked Ivy for saving them.

Ivy felt a mix of emotions: sadness for losing the child that she had grown fond of; happiness for reuniting him with his mother; pride for doing something good; regret for not being able to do more.

She decided to leave them alone, and let them have their moment. She stood up, and walked away from the building.

She thought about her own life, and wondered if she would ever find happiness or peace. She thought about Soul Edge, and wondered if she would ever destroy it or be free from it.

She thought about the baby boy, and wondered if he would ever remember her or forgive her.

She thought about herself, and wondered who she really was or what she really wanted.

She thought about these things as she left the town behind.

A/N: Okay so I'm new to the Soul Calibur franchise. Leave me to do my own research, though.

A/N: Just like with some others, I am biased at how sexualized Ivy Valentine is. But whatever, doesn't really matter.

A/N: This is meant to convey that even though Ivy Valentine is ruthless, she's still human and may have a softer side.
