The sun was setting over the Pride Lands, casting a golden glow over the savanna. Rafiki, the wise mandrill shaman, was sitting on a branch of his baobab tree, gazing at the horizon. He was troubled by a vision he had seen in his meditation: a dark shadow looming over the land, threatening to destroy the balance of nature and the circle of life. He knew that something terrible was going to happen soon, but he did not know what or how to prevent it.

He decided to seek guidance from the spirits of his ancestors, who had always watched over him and the Pride Lands. He lit a fire in his tree hollow and sprinkled some herbs on it, creating a thick smoke that filled the air with a sweet aroma. He closed his eyes and chanted a prayer, hoping to receive a sign or a message from the otherworld.

As he waited for an answer, he heard a soft voice in his ear. It was not one of his ancestors, but someone else. Someone he had never heard before.

"Rafiki."

He opened his eyes and looked around, but saw no one. He wondered if he was imagining things.

"Rafiki."

He heard the voice again, clearer and louder this time. It sounded like a woman's voice, calm and gentle.

"Who are you?" Rafiki asked.

"I am Neith," the voice said. "The goddess of the cosmos, fate, wisdom, water, rivers, mothers, childbirth, hunting, weaving, and war."

Rafiki gasped. He recognized the name of one of the oldest and most powerful deities. He had learned about her in some ancient drawings and paintings he had found in his travels, along with being explained to by others who believed in Neith. He had never expected to hear from her directly.

"Why are you speaking to me?" Rafiki asked.

"I have come to warn you," Neith said. "There is a great danger coming to your land. A danger that will threaten the life of the king and his son."

Rafiki felt a chill run down his spine. He knew she was talking about Mufasa and Simba, the lion king and prince of the Pride Lands. He had known them since they were cubs and loved them like family.

"What kind of danger?" Rafiki asked.

"A danger from within," Neith said. "A danger from someone who covets the throne and will stop at nothing to get it."

Rafiki thought for a moment. He realized there was only one person who fit that description: Scar, Mufasa's younger brother and Simba's uncle. Scar was a cunning and ruthless lion who hated and resented Mufasa for being chosen as king instead of him. He had always been jealous of his brother's power and popularity, and had tried to undermine him in various ways. Rafiki had never trusted him and had always warned Mufasa to be careful of him.

"Scar," Rafiki said.

"Yes," Neith said. "Scar is plotting to kill Mufasa and Simba and take over the Pride Lands. He has allied himself with the hyenas, who will help him carry out his plan."

Rafiki felt a surge of anger and fear. He could not believe that Scar would do such a thing. He could not let him succeed.

"How do you know this?" Rafiki asked.

"I know everything," Neith said. "I am the weaver of destiny. I see all that has been, all that is, and all that will be."

"Then tell me how to stop him," Rafiki said.

"I cannot tell you that," Neith said. "You must find out for yourself."

"But how?" Rafiki asked.

"Look for the signs," Neith said. "Follow your intuition. Trust your heart."

"Is that all?" Rafiki asked.

"No," Neith said. "There is one more thing."

"What is it?" Rafiki asked.

"Remember who you are," Neith said.

Before Rafiki could ask what she meant by that, he heard a loud roar from afar. It was Mufasa's roar, calling for Simba to join him at the top of Pride Rock for Simba to learn about being a king. Rafiki realized he had to go and prepare for the event.

He looked around again, but saw no trace of Neith or her voice. He wondered if she was still there or if she had left.

"Neith?" he called out.

There was no answer.

Rafiki shook his head and gathered his staff and gourd. He decided to heed Neith's words and look for the signs that would lead him to stop Scar's evil scheme. He also decided to remember who he was, though he was not sure what that meant.

He climbed down from his tree and headed towards Pride Rock, where a new chapter of the Pride Lands' history was about to begin.

A/N: Just like with some other people, I am also a fan of both The Lion King and The Lion Guard. Don't like what I like, don't bother convincing me otherwise. And I'm also fascinated with Egyptian Mythology.

A/N: And just a reminder that this is a crossover between The Lion King franchise and Egyptian Mythology. You can obviously do your own interpretations.
