Chapter 18: Old Friend (episode 21)

Onyx observed as the kyurangers brought Tsurugi out of the ship. He really looked different from the last time they saw him. It had been over 300 years so that shouldn't be that big of a surprise. Though, he soon returned to look that way. Could he not have had a shirt on though?

Tsurugi shocked the group as he transformed into a kyuranger himself. He was able to easily take on the indavers sent after them all. In no time at all, he was already heading to take out the moraimars. He was making very quick work of the threat. He still had it in him after all these years. That was a relief.

Madakko stepped in to try and fight him once he was destroyed the moraimars and ended the terror on the Earth. He was able to slash her down with ease. Thank god that annoyance was finally gone. Onyx would not miss her at all.

"You're amazing."

"Of course. I am the legendary savior." Tsurugi replied.

That's what he was calling himself? Onyx didn't know if that was quite what they would call him. He was a savior but legendary? There was no legend about him anymore. And what was so legendary about him when he hadn't actually defeated Don Armage?

"Listen. You are all witnesses to my legend. We will meet again."

Tsurugi began to walk away. Onyx entered the area. Was he really going to just leave after that and not explain anything else? None of the kyurangers seemed to know what to think of him still.

"Tsurugi." Onyx called his attention. "Long time no see."

Tsurugi tensed up at their voice and turned to face them. "Onyx."

"It's certainly been a while." Onyx offered a smile.

Tsurugi was glaring at them. "You..."

In a moment, he had drawn his sword and ran at Onyx. Onyx dodged as he swung at them. They summoned a sword of their own in order to block him better. Tsurugi was not holding back at all. He was going full out, fueled by his anger. This was quite fun. They had never fought Tsurugi like this before.

Tsurugi swung at them again. Onyx deflected his sword and hit him with their elbow. Tsurugi grunted and stumbled backwards.

"Hey! Stop!" Lucky jumped in between them as they briefly were separated. "Why are you attacking Onyx?"

"They're a member of Jark Matter. They are an enemy." Tsurugi growled. "Out of the way."

"Onyx is kyuranger! They're not an enemy!" Lucky argued. "They're our friend!"

"A kyuranger? With what kyutama? Last I checked, I have yours." Tsurugi held the Kogitsune kyutama in his hand.

"The death kyutama." Onyx replied, holding that up for him to see. "I was given another one since you stole mine."

"Stole? You threw it away at me!" Tsurugi yelled.

"Yeah... fair enough." Onyx chuckled.

"So... are we good?" Lucky asked.

"If you're a kyuranger again... and against Jark Matter... then why did you betray me?!" Tsurugi walked closer, Lucky trying to keep him back. "Why did you betray us all?!"

"Betray...?" Onyx heard Champ whisper. "Just what is the history between these two?"

Onyx stared Tsurugi down. "Are you that blind? You never realized the way the other warriors felt about me?"

"What do you... mean?" Tsurugi questioned.

"I told you no one would accept a serial killer as a savior. Everyone hated me. The entire reason I even joined Jark Matter was because of the fact one of them tried to kill me and I killed them in self-defense. Don Armage saw me do that and offered me the chance to take revenge on them."
