Chapter 25: The Past (episode 28 & 29)

The journey to the past was still a long one. Onyx knew that was going to unfortunately be the case. With how far back in time they had to travel, it was no surprise it would take a while to get there. They could only go so fast through the time hole without risking messing things up.

Everyone was mostly just standing around the table. There wasn't very much conversation going on. The atmosphere on the ship was growing more and more tense as the minutes ticked by. They were about to see potentially the secret that Don Armage was hiding from them.

Onyx knew what his secret was. They didn't know if they wanted everyone to find out yet. They had a lot of other things to deal with before they'd be able to get to Don Armage. Finding out his true identity might destroy Tsurugi way too early and make him become even more reckless than he already was.

For that reason, Onyx kept quiet and tried to act normal about all of this. They had taken to trying to help the commander out with his issue. They really didn't need someone incapacitated when they reached the past. There would probably be a fight at some point in time while they were here. They needed to be at their bests for whatever was to come.

"We are exiting the time hole. Please prepare for impact." Raptor spoke up.

About time they finally got to where they were going. Onyx was more than ready to get off of this ship for a bit.

"Eh?!" The commander exclaimed at Raptor's warning. "My back can't withstand that! Don't!!"

They exited the time hole. It was a very rough exit. Everyone struggled to remain upright. Everyone had grabbed onto the table to support during it.

"Huh? The shock fixed it." Shou stood up, good as new.

"You can move." Champ said.

"Guess the bumps cracked your back into shape again." Onyx said with a shrug. "Try not to overdo it again please. We need everyone in top shape for whatever we're about to stumble into."

"Were we... successful?" Stinger questioned.

"We'll know when we get there." Tsurugi replied. "We are entering the place where Onyx and I last fought Don Armage."

"Man... this is gonna be weird." Onyx laughed nervously.

"Onii-chan..." Tsurugi looked at them.

There was a long moment of silence on the ship. There was a chance they would all see the past Onyx. The one who was evil.

"No matter what we see, it doesn't change anything about you." Stinger said, "The past doesn't define who you are today."

"Right." Champ nodded. "Even if we see the past you on the enemy's side, we know the truth about you now."

"Sometimes we go down the wrong paths to find the right one." Spada added on.

"You're a Kyuranger now. Your past actions have been forgiven." Shou placed a hand on their shoulder.

"Everyone..." Onyx glanced around. "Thank you... It's been a long time since anyone's seen me as anything but my past."

"We're landing! Prepare yourselves." Raptor announced.

Soon enough, the Orion-gou had landed on the planet. Everyone looked at each other. This was it. Time to learn some things about the past.

They all exited the ship. Time to head to the place of the battle. Tsurugi and Onyx lead the way. As they walked, the tenseness seemed to get worse. Nobody knew what to expect next.

The sounds of the battle reached everyone's ears long before they could see anything. Tsurugi reached over and grabbed Onyx's hand. His was trembling slightly at the implications of what they were about to see. Onyx had no way to reassure him. They were just as nervous about this.
