Chapter 30: Face Your Past (episode 34)

"All we need is the exact location of Jark Matter's main base. With this ship, we should be able to infiltrate it." Tsurugi was back on his plan about how to defeat Don Armage once and for all.

"Onyx? Can't you just tell us where it is?" Hammie asked, "I don't get why you won't."

Onyx refused to make eye contact with anyone. The reason they really didn't want to tell them was... embarrassing. They had hoped everyone would just accept that they had to work for it.

"I... well... you see..." Onyx fumbled for an explanation to give." I... don't actually know..."

"Eh?!"

"How do you not know? You were his right-hand man." Lucky questioned in disbelief.

"I never had to be the one driving to and from the base. I... don't know how to get there. I always had someone to transport me there." Onyx mumbled. "I... sorry..."

"Balance. Can you go in my head and look?" Naga questioned.

"Okay!" Balance agreed.

"Eh?! You can do that?!" The commander exclaimed.

Right... he hadn't been here when they did the rescue Naga mission.

"Yeah. It's possible with my modified Kenbikyou kyutama." Balance replied.

That mission was enacted soon after. Hopefully it wouldn't take Balance too long to find the information they needed. They really needed to try and get things moving again. Though...

Onyx's gaze drifted over to Stinger. While everyone else talked about things regarding a break, he seemed in his own little world. He looked a little troubled.

"Worried about Champ?" Onyx guessed as they leaned against the wall next to him.

Stinger glanced their way. "Am I that easy to read?"

"I know you quite well, after all." Onyx replied, "I'm sure it'll be okay. Champ will return soon enough."

"I'm worried about what he found out."

"Right... you know a bit about the doctor's past." Onyx said, "It will probably be a lot to take in, but... he should know he's always welcome no matter what his past is. Just like me."

"So what Scorpio said..."

"It's true."

The ship suddenly began to violently shake. They were under attack?!

"What?! An earthquake?!" Hammie said.

"We're in space! How can this be an earthquake?" Onyx shot back.

"It's Kukuruga!" Raptor said, "He's attacking from Earth!"

"Let's go, everyone!" Lucky yelled, already heading for the door.

Everyone followed behind him, save for the commander and Raptor, as well as obviously Balance and Naga.

"I'm counting on you!" Shou called to them.

They rushed to Earth to confront Kukuruga.

"Oh?" Kukuruga spoke as they came into his sight.

"Kukuruga!" Lucky yelled.

"So you're finally here." Kukuruga said, "I brought a fun toy for you to play with."

A black sphere descended to the Earth.

"A kyutama?"

"It looks like one, but I don't think it is." Onyx stated. There was no normal sense of a kyutama as they got with everyone else's. Just what was going on?
