Chapter 22: Remnants of the Past (episode 25)

The journey to Planet Toki would take a little while. While everyone was waiting around, questions started up.

"Is it true you can go to the past?" Hammie asked Tsurugi.

"Yeah." Tsurugi replied. "If we use the Tokei kyutama, which controls the galaxies' time, we can turn back time."

"If we can go back in time..." Kotaro said, walking over to Stinger, "then we can meet people who've died?"

"Is there someone you want to see?" Stinger questioned.

Kotaro looked down. "I was wondering if I could see my late mother."

Onyx frowned at his words and walked over to them. "Your mother... is no longer around?"

Kotaro nodded. "She got sick soon after my brother was born and died."

"Poor thing..." Onyx patted him on the head. "You must miss her a lot..."

Kotaro looked down again. "Don't feel bad... This isn't the time to be talking about that anyway. Everyone is in the same boat here."

Onyx crouched down to be eye level with him. "If you do ever want to talk more about her, you can come talk to me. I'd love to hear the memories you have of her."

Kotaro nodded, before brushing past them. "Oh! Look! I see Planet Toki!"

Onyx stood back up and looked out the window. The planet was rapidly getting closer. Soon they'd have to deal with whatever awaited them there. There was a pretty good chance that Tecchu would probably show up at some point if he wasn't there already.

They soon landed on the planet. There was a big explosion somewhere nearby. They all rushed to the scene, knowing that was where Spada and Raptor most likely would be at. They arrived to find that Tecchu was on the planet.

Everyone transformed and then shot at him with their blasters and then rushed to join Spada and Raptor.

"So you're all here?" Tecchu said. "Prepare yourselves! I'll exterminate all of you!"

And then he fled. What a coward.

Everyone undid their transformations.

"I can't believe he got here before us." The commander said.

"My word. We need to find the Tokei kyutama as fast as possible." Tsurugi stated.

"Indeed. So, how do we do that?" Onyx questioned.

Spada and Raptor started explaining the issue. There were twelve keys that needed to be turned in order to get the kyutama. But they only had half-an-hour to turn them all before they would reset. Two people alone was not enough to do it.

"Alright, lucky!" Lucky shouted. "There's 13 of us here! We have enough to turn them all! The Tokei kyutama is as good as ours!"

They all split up to go to a key. Onyx opted to tag along with Tsurugi. They could easily reach anyone in seconds if the need rose, but for now they remained with him. Especially knowing that Tecchu was somewhere on this planet. They didn't want to leave Tsurugi alone if they could help it. If he got hurt because they hadn't been there to protect him, they would never be able to forgive themself.

When they arrived at their key to turn, someone manifested in front of them. Cuervo. Back before everything went down.

"Tsurugi... Onyx..." Cuervo spoke.

It was very strange to hear that voice again after so long. Onyx had gotten used to considering his voice as the one he used as Don Armage.

"It cannot be... Cuervo?" Tsurugi replied.
