Olivia was scrambling to get the food ready for everyone, while the hungry teenagers all of them were just grabbing food out of random spots before she could properly prepare it.

Every time she turned around, more food was going missing. "Oh come on now, all of you!" She complained as the five wolves in the kitchen were all looking at her, shoving food in their mouths and she threw up her hands in exasperation. "Fine!" She said and moved out of the way, as they were going to the counter and devouring all of the food.

Sam walked into the house and he saw the chaos, raising his eyebrows at Olivia from the doorway and she was just shaking her head.

It had been six months since Opal and Carmen had phased for the first time and thankfully for their bank accounts, they had both gotten the concept of phasing and their control down fairly quickly.

For Carmen, it was easier. She had always been calmer, a trait that she had emulated from Sam at a young age. Plus as an added bonus, she had imprinted as soon as she had phased for the first time. Which always annoyed Sam, considering that it was Paul of all the werewolves. But at the end of the day, it didn't really matter.

Opal had easily enough fallen into the role of "Beta" or the second in command of their wolf pack by right of birth. If she wanted to do so, she could have taken over and Sam's authority as Alpha would have been hers to take.

But she didn't, she was far too conflicted and ever since she had phased for the first time, she was having terrible visions that wracked her from head to toe and it seemed to terrify her.

When Billy had gotten sick of waking up every time she was screaming in terror from whatever vision she had just seen, she had left and was now staying with Olivia and Sam. Luckily, the two were much better equipped to deal with it than Billy Black was.

Then suddenly, a howl rippled through the air and Opal looked up and Sam looked over his shoulder at the door.

"Five bucks says that it's Jacob." Jared said and Opal rolled her eyes at the words and she was shaking her head.

"No way. He hasn't even started packing on the muscle yet, no way. Fifteen says that you are totally wrong." Opal replied.

"I will take that action. But really, who else could it be?" Jared asked and Olivia sighed at the question.

"Quil." Olivia sounded miserable and they looked at her, as she was looking at them all and she sighed. "I'll heat up the food again for you guys, just go!" Olivia said sharply to cover up her pain. The pain of the realization, that she didn't want her little brother to be caught up in all of this.

A moment later, the pack was racing out of the doors and then suddenly, she could hear the familiar faint sound of the pack, as they phased.

Olivia sighed as she walked out of the front door and she saw all of their scattered shoes and clothes. "Here we go again." She said as she collected them quickly.

Sam's shoes and pants were put on one of the chairs, Paul's shorts and shoes were put next to the back door, Jared's were hung on the railing of the stairs with his shoes on the patio, Opal's shirt, shorts and shoes were left on the edge of the treeline and Carmen's were tucked by the back door next to Paul's.

Opal counted real quickly on her fingers now to make sure that she had all of their stuff gathered and she was sitting down silently on a chair, as she was shaking her head with pain in her eyes.

Olivia felt tears pricking at her eyes as she was lowering her head in shame, as she was shaking her head and hot tears ran down her face.

"Sam, I have to tell Quil." Olivia was insisting and Sam growled at the words and Olivia's eyes flashed in response. "He probably thinks that I have abandoned him for you and the others!"

"We agreed on this when I first told you, we can't tell him until he phases." Sam argued.

"And what happens if he doesn't?" Olivia snapped back and Sam looked down at her and she was shaking her head. "I can't lose my brother because of secrets and lies, Sam, the rest of my family hates me enough already..."

"You called us your family..."

"I meant my family that raised me!" She snapped angrily and Sam's jaw clenched at the words and she shut her eyes. "Sam, I'm sorry." Olivia whispered and she could hear the floorboards creaking as he walked out of the house and she opened her eyes again, as she looked out of the open door and she saw him quivering. Struggling to control the phase, something that she hadn't seen from him many times and she felt terrible about it.

Olivia had pushed him to it, she had just thrown it at him and Olivia went upstairs in silence, to wait.

Eventually as he always did, Olivia was nearly asleep when Sam came in. She said nothing, but she moved closer when he was lying next to her as she felt his arms around her in a familiar and warm hug.

"I'm sorry." Sam murmured softly as she rolled over to face him and she rested her head on his chest, listening very clearly to his steady heartbeat. "I love you." He murmured quietly, kissing her forehead and she snuggled closer.

"I love you too." Olivia murmured quietly and she shut her eyes, as she fell asleep as she always did. Feeling the familiar warm heat of her own personal, werewolf space heater.
