"Sam's out back." Jared said and Olivia turned to look at him. "Go and see for your own eyes if you don't believe me." He said and Olivia sighed, before she was pushing her way through the crowd and she kicked the back door open.
Sure enough at the edge of the tree line there he was. "Sending your lackeys to bring me these?" Olivia asked as she held up the box and Sam stood up straight, as Olivia was narrowing her eyes.
Sam had grown even more since she had last seen him and now he was close to being over 7 feet. "They were both your best friends first." He pointed out.
"Yeah, until you scooped them up. I haven't heard from them in weeks." Olivia snapped and he blinked. "I get all of my news from Leah now, nevermind the fact that 3 months ago, she never would have spoken to me if you hadn't started the conversation first!"
"I know how angry you are..." Sam said as Olivia looked at him, clenching her fists at her sides and she flung the box at him. He caught it before it could hit him in the face and she was shaking her head.
"Do you?" Olivia asked with a familiar tremor in her voice. "My whole life in La Push, you were the only one who was always on my side. Always. Doesn't matter what anyone else would say, you always had my side and you were always willing to go to bat for me." She said, Sam looked at her and he was quietly listening. "And then five weeks ago, you do a complete 180 and say the same shit!" Olivia snapped and he was lowering his head.
"Liv..."
"You do not support someone like that for years on end, only to turn around and call them "worthless" and "not good enough" as soon as they're able and willing to be the one, throwing the cold truth at you!" Olivia shouted at him as she was shaking her head.
Olivia had never meant to lose her temper again, but she was looking down at her fists and they were trembling. "I was trying to protect you." Sam's voice broke the silence and Olivia looked up at him.
"From what?" Olivia asked and her voice was hoarse from the shouting and Sam shut his eyes.
Olivia jumped backwards with a terrified yell, as a massive black wolf was standing in front of her where Sam had been. The wolf was almost the size of Charlie's house as she looked at it. "Sam?" She asked uncertainty in her voice as it... No as he whined and moved his head up and down in a nod. "Holy, holy shit." She said under her breath.
Olivia got up and she looked at the size of the massive wolf, and she was shaking her head a little. "Oh my god." She murmured and the head of Sam's wolf form was as big as she was. "So the legends are true." She muttered.
"You are taking this a whole lot better than he thought you would." Olivia turned around to see Jared and Paul, who were now both walking over. "Us too." Jared explained as Olivia nodded.
"Well, it explains the growth spurt for you two, I guess. What are you two now, 7 feet?" Olivia asked and they shook their heads.
"6' 8, 6' 6". Paul's the short and stocky one." Jared said and Paul was quivering at the words. "Uh oh. Olivia, get back." He said and Olivia spotted the quivering and she had an unfortunate feeling that she had an idea of what it meant. "Paul, get a grip!"
Sam growled and Jared lifted Olivia onto Sam's back at the growl and Olivia looked at Paul, who was suddenly exploding out of his jeans. Paul was a massive dark gray wolf and Olivia yelped, grabbing onto Sam's fur in surprise and Sam growled at Paul, whose eyes were shining in fury.
Paul looked up at Olivia, who stared at him and Paul huffed, before he was taking off to La Push. "Does that happen real often?" She asked, directing her question to Jared, who held out a hand to help her down.
Olivia shook her head as she was able to slide off of Sam's back without problem as Jared sighed. "I have a pretty good lid on it, Sam hasn't shifted through anger since after you went off on him in the woods and after he had called you some... Not so nice things." He said and she looked at him.
"I meant for Paul, smart-ass." Olivia said as Jared sighed. "Enough said, he has a temper and now it's worse... Because every damn time he gets pissed, he bursts out of all his clothes?" She confirmed.
"Pretty much." Olivia jumped a foot in the air and she turned around to see that Sam was pulling his jeans back on. "Sorry." He said and she was shaking her head.
"Okay. Paul is the easily angered, loud and dark gray wolf. Is Sam the biggest and black fur?" She asked and they both nodded. "Ok, sure. Jared, what do you look like?" She asked and he looked at her. "You know what I mean, smart-ass." She said and he sighed.
"Sam?" Jared asked.
"Go ahead. There are more things on the whole list but for now, we might as well just get this over with." Sam said as he was doing up his shoes.
Jared kicked off his shoes and he pulled off his pants, before he was quivering and soon, Olivia was face to face with a brown wolf.
Olivia was right, Jared's wolf form was not nearly as big as Sam and, she saw that he'd shorter brown fur and his face was covered in gray fur that resembled a mask. "You look like a raccoon." She said with a shrug and at the words, Sam laughed and he was looking at Jared.
"I can see the resemblance now." He admitted and Jared growled at him in annoyance, which only caused Sam to chuckle more. "I will have to remember that one. Do you need some help clearing out the house?" He asked and she sighed.
"I'm the designated driver for them all, I'm the only one who didn't drink in that entire house." She said and she walked back over to the house. Sam and Jared caught up to her and Paul, he had brought Sam's truck to the house and she glanced over at the two guys beside her. "Could you guys hear what was going on, in there?" She asked.
"Yeah, it was getting weird in there." She sighed at Jared's words.
"Great, that is just perfect." Olivia said very much sarcastically to him as Sam caught the keys that Paul had tossed to him from across the lawn and Olivia pushed the door open.
Jared had also called Jayne, who brought the minivan and she loaded all of the people under 16 into the van, shutting the door and she waved to Olivia, who smiled a little.
Sam took a really quiet Leah and the snoring Carmen back home and Olivia sighed, as Jared and Paul had hopped into the back of Sam's truck and Olivia, she was silently walking back into the house.
Olivia looked around at the unbelievable mess and she was shaking her head, as she was starting the slow process of cleaning up the place.
